Because most of CHicago's venues are built and they dont need to spend more money on security as Rio.

>Brazil goes to invest this for the high infrastructure necessity! the others already have enough infrastructure, therefore it does not have necessity of as many financial investments

no its not. no main stadium, no aquatic centre, tennis centre, hockey centre, rowing centre, archery venue, bmx venue, sailing venue.

whether they are temporary or not they cost money. these are some of the main olympic venues.

It's not that I don't like it. It a big concern when you have to build 25,000 rooms excluding the Olympic Village just to meet the basic IOC requirement of 40,000 rooms.

There are about 20,000 hotel rooms in Rio but they only managed to guarantee about 13,000.

Even if Madrid is in the same continent as London, there is not such a rule to count them out. Lets remember that in the 1948 London Olympics, Helsinki/Finland was next in 1952. What a better time for the bid going to a country in the same continent after London again.

Madrid has 80% of its installations built. Look what happen with London’s Olympic stadium proposal. I’m sure they don’t want to repeat the same mistake. In these times of global crisis having all the installations ready, counts more than ever before.

Here are some pics of the almost completed tennis stadium the most recent addition.

It would be awesome if Rio won because I truly think they deserve the games, and then Toronto can be awarded the games in 2020!

Wow, what a miraculous spontaneous rally of votes for Rio in the last 24 hours.

I don't know if the IOC would agree on having two Summer Olympic Games in a row in the Americas . Despite that, I really want that Toronto get these games eventually.

I would like Tokyo to host 2016 ... because Rio brazil has wc 2014 , USA bids for every Olympic tournament, no matter the city... and Madrid is in Europe...and Europe got 2012 and most of all... Japan will not get wc so the have nothing...

Why couldn't U.S.A. just bid with New York City like last time? Like a Chicago has better chances then N.Y.
If in 2012 it was a bigger fight, now New York would have had big chances and it's a city worth for hosting not just any s* hole in America to candidate.
Tokyo would be a good choice two, as you said Brazil has the 2014 World Cup, Madrid has small chances since 2012 was in Europe.

Chicago is a better option than New York.

You do realize that it has more people than many countries, right?

It's hardly "any shithole city".

Because New York didn't bid for the USOC nomination for the 2016 Games in the first place.
