Does anyone know a channel here in the US that will show the final presentations? I know ESPN will cover the announcement, but I'd like to see the final presentations if they're public. If not a US channel, then a site online to watch it?

Not sure if they do or not but I would try one of the online Chicago Network News sites.

I would just like to add that it seems like non of the major papers I've looked at based outside of Chicago are really mentioning the Olympic bid. Is it safe to say that there's a lack of national support? I don't even think the majority of Americans even know or care that our nation is bidding. I mean I even made a post on my facebook asking people who they think should win. Out of 150 friends throughout the country I've gotten no response. It seems like only die hard Olympic fans, athletes and about seventy percent of Chicagoans want the games and care about whether we have them or not. I'm a die hard Olympics fan and I don't even want it here.

^ That's pretty much the only response we get here for Olympic bids. The New York bid in 2012 had about the same nationwide buzz. We, as a country, just don't get excited to maybe get something. There's a lot of sports going on here that US sports fans are engrossed in at the moment. Some may say that shows a lack of support for the bid or a lack of excitement surrounding the Olympics. I'd disagree and say that it's just a part of our immediate, what is going on right now sports culture, but to each his own.

Maybe its just that the general public automatically expects us to win out of arrogance? Who knows. I for one would want to go out and party in the streets with a mass amount of people as the whole country should. I'm sure everyone in Brazil will if they win. But people are too busy wallowing in their arrogance.

Apparently Charles Gibson will be hosting ABC World News from Chicago tomorrow. I expect the other news channels will also have full coverage.

probably has something to with the fact that the 5 sports Americans care about the most (Football, Baseball, Basketball, Car racing, and Hockey) all have the highest level of competition and talent in its national leagues. Summer Olympics are almost a downgrade compared to the pro leagues.

But thats the same in nearly every country which is developed enough to host the olympics, they all have other sports which are much higher profile and more popular than olympic sports not only America. Australia for example has Australian football, League, Union, Cricket, Football, Motor racing, Horse racing, tennis, etc.. which are all much higher profile than Olympic sport yet would still get behind a bid as nearly every other country would.

Which of those 5 most popular sports are in the Olympics??? Only basketball. That just doesn't make sense as you can't claim that people aren't interested in sports that are not actually included in the Olympics.
I assume you're referring to:
-Ice Hockey (not in the summer Olympics)
-Football (Gridiron?) and not Soccer
-Car racing not included
-Baseball may have been a demonstrator sport at some Olympic games but not currently included.
Even your pro league basketball is made up of players from around the world! I'm not silly I know you're the best in basketball regardless, but it's just a strange statement to make.

Tomorrow's decision...
I want Rio's energy and passion to win
I want Madrid's culture and creativity to win
I want Chicago's organisational skills to win

A mediocre speech from Mayor Daley. Certainly not the most inspiring of speeches. This video is great though. It's giving me the chills, but I suspect I'll get the chills a lot as I watch these final presentations.

Honestly?

*yawn*

That whole "world united, with all races together living in harmony" speech is so utopic, doesn't give me slighest sense of reality... Chicago is suddenly lollipops-unicorns-and-rainbows meadows?

It's amazing, but something like that can actually sway a voter or two. Good move on their part, even though something like that doesn't mean much with regards to who would host the best games.
