Too bad they haven't...

Go swim at your "beach", will'ya?

I'm sick of being polite with Chicago's aholes (a considerable number), now I'll answer to the level

The legacy answer was mishandled. The youth sports programs would be the games best legacy and the numbers, as well as scope and detailed plan that affects not only Chicago but the entire country's youth sports programs are astonishing. That should have been the focus of the answer that could wow the IOC and lead an indelible mark in their minds.

I think the entire presentation was similar to the President's speech. Solid, informative and very well organized, but it lacked a wow factor. The legacy answer could have given them the wow factor, but it was mishandled. Michelle Obama was the highlight of the presentation.

Couldn't agree more!

Very good presentation, overall... I'll give it an 8/10

What time fuse are you in?

It's 5 am sharp over here in Brazil, and I haven't met a bed for over 34 hours already

8.5 - for the speakers (namely the Obama's)
5 - for the video presentations. Though they had their moments felt they missed out on something. I doubt the others will better at speaking then the Chicago party but they can perhaps win with better videos IMO. We will see.

Being Honest, I didnt like at all the videos with the people. I know Chicago is multicultural and everything, but they tryied to play the race card very hard! Like trying to prove that America is a welcoming place for foreigner.. I think it was unecessary, everybody knows that.

That is funny because I though they didn't play up the diversity in the videos as much as they might or could. Those shots are selective shooting, Chicago is one of the most diverse nations by both race and ethnicity in the world.

I am guessing that Rio will play up their racial diversity with their selection of people photos/video.

I liked the videos with the people, but I thought it lacked that one great image. I would have killed for one of the video to finish with a medal ceremony at Millennium Park, then zooming out to see how great the park looks, then the skyline behind it.

I do think the brazilian committee HAS something beneath their sleaves... I'm expecting nothing less than OUTSTANDING from their presentation, in which they've been working and rehearsing for the last two months! It will include, among other things, a short film directed by renowned brazilian filmmaker Fernando Meirelles, who's films been nominated to the Academy Awards several times! The olny thing I'm really worried, like colleague TEBC said, is Lula's speach. Hope he doesn't say anything stupid

Chicago presentation was compelling. Michelle Obama introduced a good amount of emotion - she was the high point.

The Chicago presentation was simultaneously dry and uninformative. Daley was awful, good thing he spoke near the beginning. Videos were boring and repetitive. I think the Obamas helped, but I wasn't "wowed". Michelle's speech bordered on maudlin.

However, since I have never witnessed one of these presentations, I don't know what is expected or how much more professional the other's will be. I thought the final presentation was meant to really wow the voters with spirit and emotion. This was really downbeat.

I don't think I'll wait for Rio, but I'll watch Tokyo for comparison's sake.

I know he is a very busy guy but considering how committed he has been to Rio's bid and for diplomacies own sake I am a bit surprised he hasn't tried to take some crash course English lessons over the last few years. It would be a skill that would serve him well beyond this event.

I'm glad that Madrid is going last to be honest.
