Look at Madrid 2012 new web, thats impressive. You´ll get all the information about the bid, infraestructures, olympic ring ando so on. very good images.

www.madrid2012.es

Madrid Olympic tennis court, The Magic Box, is an example.

london needs to have more renderings with such good quality as madrid uses it could help a lot in conveying their vision to the IOC but im sure they have videos which do that, like some of the venues at the famous landmarks just have one rendering we should expect more considering London's budget...

Well yeah , it's a great design for a tennis venue . I like it very much indeed but glass ? I can imagine the sun beaming into the eyes of the tennis players and a very hot sweaty crowd that is also blinded by the sun .

If that is only a rendering that isn't intended to show a final glass design then I say it's quite a boring design in comparison to Wimbledon's new court .

Also it doesn't really have the cache of flushing meadows, roland garros and not the creme de la creme Wimbledon

first of all, the box is not build in glass, it's just only the rendering to let you see inside.
the architect is one of the most reputated actually, Perrault, (bibliotheque the france, swimming pool in berlin...) if you think is boring comparing to wimbledon, is your opinion, i think this one is more modern and flexible for different venues, indoor or outdoor.
about the 'cache'...obviously, is a new building, but even 'the creme de la creme' was new when was builded, or not?

I am saying that Spain does not have a tennis venue that hosts one of the big four tennis competitions.

US Open, French Open, Australian Open and the mother of all tennis competitions Wimbledon.

But when people talk of a grand slam in tennis they mean they have won all four major competitions and Madrid isn't one of them.

Anyway this is getting off topic I was merely trying to say Madrid can build the world's best tennis complex but for London, Paris, and New York they have an advantage with having world famous competitions.

Wimbledon will also be redeveloped in 2006....Center court will have a retractabe roof fitted....capacity will be increased my nearly 2000 seats....

Firstly, i dont think one can begin to compare any newly built technologically advanced tennis stadium or arena to that of wimbledone roland garross, or even the US open with soo mcuh history, the memories there and the sheer energy that theses places possess..

On the other hand i dont find it compulsory that people run down madrids bid just because it doesnt have a wimbledon or a roland gaross, yes it would be more amazing to have the tennis tournament at wimbledon which might even be a boost for tennis in the olympics, but to say that the slidig roofs and new madrid tennis centre will be better than having tennis at wimbledon is absurd....

future bid cities wont all have grand slam tennis venues but they should be considered for what they can offer the games and the sport, madrid would be an excellent bid if it was not for barcelona 1992 which does more harm than good to its bid,

IMO
madrid lacks the spark and energy of the new york. london bids and in any other situation on its technical strength it does stand out, but we all know its about more than compact venues and sustainability its geo-politics, it comes down to 100 or so human beings voting in their opinions where they think the games should be held, and there is a difference between voting for the best bid and who u think is the best bid...

i say it again, madrid, and moscow too, have great projects, with the same energy or more than london, paris or ny (is the city with more popular support), everybody knows how pasionated we are in everything we do, just look at barcelona, and don't do it only to talk about 1992 games, are far enough from 2012 and i think is not a problem, maybe you want to see it as a problem....
