People here are calling you arrogant not because they think you should learn a foreign language but because you tag foreign speakers as teenagers with a limited vocabulary. Can we move on and actually talk about the bids for 2012! Please leave your petty little arguments (i am talking to both British and Spanish forumers and i dont care who started it!) away from this thread and let the people actually interested in the process (and not their own patriotism) read up the latest developments.

Wrong . Tony Blair is the USA's no 1 butt-kisser . Why do you think he had a bad back ?

The problem here :

Young puppies from less important countries incessantly flagwaving and speaking as if everything they have is better than the rest . Better than Wimbledon , better than Wembley , better than London blah blah blah . Schoolboy patriotism just for the sake of it . Some people don't have to shout so loud because the evidence is there for the seeing . As for the way they speak English ; it is less to do with profficiency and more to do with being immature .

Things seem to be between Madrid and New York, despite Paris get the highest mark on the preliminar selection and Madrid the second highest mark.

London's gonna win.

Paris is too lazy and although it hurts me to say it, doesn't deserve the games.

London should win because:

The best bid - Athelete's village centred within the Park, with atheletes able to view the Olympic flame from their apartments. The fastest journey time to the centre of the city. Media village with live backdrop of Olympic stadium from roof. A new purpose-built stadium, plus extra stadiums that are under construction and will be ready before 2012 designed by stunning world famous architects.

The best financial and Government package - The Olympic Bill already sworn into Parliament, meaning full government approval, a timetable and promise of keeping to budget and keeping to a construction timetable.

A 'can do' attitude to sporting and cultural events - British success in getting behind events and making a show whatever the occassion, and welcoming the world with open arms and supporting them wherever they are from on the Globe with an unpretentious attitude to all. Adopt an Olympic family project, financial help bringing athelete's to the city.

The best and most-far reaching legacy - The creation of Europe's largest park and wetland. A legacy supported by the WWF - the first in the history of the Olympics. A massive investment programme into London's transport network to bring it into line with other cities that don't need improvement.

Celebrity and political backing - Support from celebrities, diplomats and politicians from across the Globe; Nelson Mandela, Joanna Lumley, Elton John, as well as atheletes and sporting competitors.

An 'X-factored' Games - Events in modern, new facilties, as well as events in London's historical venues. Various world famous landmarks being used as backdrops - London Eye, Horse Guard's Parade, Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, Greenwich, Canary Wharf, Millennium Dome. Cultural events planned for the years running up to the Games - as well as organised celebrations within the Olympic Park and Hyde Park every night of the Games. Olympic Javelin train journey building up excitement of Olympic park and Central London for every visitor.

Best paralympic facilities - All paralympic venues, transport to the venues and all London taxis with exceptional disabled access.

Best history and memorable dates - 400 years since Cotswald Olimpicks, London saving the Olympics on previous occasions, Britain's 4th bid, 2012 will be Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, promising a Summer-long celebration. First Games ever to take place on either side of the Meridian Line, in both hemispheres.

A most changed city and country - Massively improved transport system, creation of a new massive park, a new defining skyline of skyscrapers (including tallest in Western Europe), pedestianisation of key Central London routes, Las Ramblas project, cleaning and upgrading of major tourist destinations, as well as a new impetus and passion for sport and health across the country giving the UK a new start and new look for the 21st Century.

very well written and excellent reasons for london hosting possibly one of the best games ever...it just seems to make sense that london should host the games, but it comes down to 107 ioc members mostly biased by their opinions, london should just keep lobbying and whether or not it wins it should know that its bid will go down as one of the best bids ever that never won...
