But even in the Spanish forum it says 'Post Reply'!! What I meant is that it says 'World Forums' up there, so it's not an English forum, hehe.

please, can we stop this discussion?, we seem to be like teenagers...mine is bigger than yours...
why we can't write only about the bids, the projects? it's nothing between the people from madrid, london, paris, ny o moskow. sometimes the passion we put on this, just shows a kind of nationalism and wrong patriotism, wich ends in stupid words.
nobody is better than others, not better countries, just differents, that's all.
so please stop saying we are the best, the biggest, greatest, it only seems to be inmaturity. we can find racism, stupid people everywhere, so let's think twice the things we say before we write, and let's deffend our bids the best way we can.

I'm sorry then, I'll try not to answer back if someone says anything bad about any language or country.
I want Madrid to win because I think it's the only one that has not held the Olympic Games before. It already has the 90% of its sports centers built and everyone in Spain supports its candidature! Even the most famous companies! I think it's a safe and strong candidature because we're almost READY!
Another thing to say is that Madrid has one of the best public transport in the world! Its underground is only overtaken by London's, but London has more inhabitants than Madrid, so there is a difference and you can imagine how good it is to have so many metro lines for 5 million people and not for 10!

lol, I'm sure a while ago someone said Spain said had over 70% of their bid built, and then 80% and now it's 90 %, but I keep seeing renderings and not actual buildings:

If these are only 10% of the bid that has to be built then it's a pretty important 10%.

the olympic stadium is already done, only u/c just to make the new roof , the magic box (tennis) and the water sports center is u/c, the places for gimnastic, basket, football, indoor sports as judo, taekwondo, and other indoor sports are builded yet.
the olympic village is something that will be done only if madrid host the games (i think it happend the same in the 5 cities)

We founded dozens of US cities aswell you know!

By 2007/8 all but 2 venues for London will have been finished, if we have won the olympics or not.

Is it good that most are built now?

Its like the Stade de France, Its now considered old and outdated many feel that it will count against Paris' bid

Los juegos olímpicos de Barcelona `92 fueron los mejores de la historia, los de Madrid 2012, serán los mejores del futuro.

Hablo en español, porque para eso somos la tercera lengua materna en el mundo.

Well I really do hope London wins. The reason being its in my home country.

If London don't win though I'm sure it won't stop the thousands and thousands of fans travelling to the 2012 Olympics where ever they are held and showing their immense support.

Cacereño

I disagree, Sydneys olympics were better by far and are widely recognised as the best games so far!

I belive all candidates have the chance of hosting the best Olympics ever...as do Beijing.

IMO Londons Olympic park is the prettiest, and even has the backing from the WWF

Another thing...

This 'London has hosted the Olympics twice and shouldnt get it again' business...

London has never hosted the Olympics after winning a bid,

In 1948 it was organised in quick time after the war and given to London.

And before that we hosted it after the winner of the bid dropped out at the last minute!

more than 70% of our bid is already built OR BEING BUILT AT THIS MOMENT!!. we are building most of the projects wether we get or not the games to demonstrate that they won't just be used for the games but they will be an important part of the citizens life, which is something the IOC values quite much.
Madrid has a very solid project, more than 90% of the Spaniards support it and the whole politic class and the royal family is givin complete support to our bid.
and for those (mostly English...) who are speaking about my country as a third world country I should invite them to come round and visit us, you will indeed change your minds. I lived 3 months in the UK to improve my English and I can say I like Spain much better, our life quality is way better than yours even though some of our regions might be poorer than your country. but I insist, come and see it by yourselves...

anyway, why hasn't anyone banned EnglishKevin yet??
