Taking into account that this also happens in English stadiums, any English bid should be rejected. Right?

It's absolutely stupid.

GO MADRID!!!

Yes, of course. When it happens abroad, they are lots of people. When it happens in my country, they're just one or two.

Be serious!!!

It never happens anymore in the UK. Millwall had an incident last year, it came right after Spains abuse. but it was about 3 fans and they were thrown out of the stadium and banned for life.

Football Hooligans? Think your find London is probably a fair less worse then Madrid and any other major footballing city nowadays. violence is limited thanks to all seated stadiums.

The olympics should come to the most passionate fans. fans that will sell out every stadium for every event. only the UK can offer this.

Yes of course. The olympic village will be built inside Paris (which is itself a dream considering the size of the city, in 2008's bid it was outside), and it will replace a former industrial zone. Architects are not yet known.

Also you are right about London, it would change it forever and for the better. Considering that London didn't host big sport events since a long time compared to Paris, for sure there is a demand from people either. But because sport events, Paris leads all other cities if your read the International Olympic Committee Report (http://multimedia.olympic.org/pdf/en_report_809.pdf)

I agree with you. But since Atlanta won the 1996 Olympics it's clear that's not the way the IOC thinks.

1 million people are expected on Champs-Elysées tomorrow to show their love for Paris 2012, but sadly, they don't know skyscrapercity.com ! A chance there is more english and spanish forumers that french ones to let people believe that Madrid and London can compete with Paris. Madrid's bid exploded short time after ETA bombs and also because economical problems to finance games... London's bid grew since the IOC report, but London was so far from Paris, that they will never come back, Paris is not Milan and London is not Liverpool... ahahah Also, London has problems with businessmen and about the construction of their olympic stadium. They already had problems with millenium dome, now with the new wembley, we can expect the same with olympic stadium.

Was a pleasure to see you again Azca

Arr yes the Millenium Dome, which is now being turned into the worlds largest indoor arena. Wembley being ****ed up by a group of Australians and the buisnessmen who have signed an agreement that they are for the London olympics and have even hung flags up outside thier buisnesses to show thier support.

London will complete every project before 2010. 20,000 aquatic center to start in january aswell as a 6,000 velodrome. believe me. dont worry about the UK we always get everything finished and always make sure its the best, thats why we dont have mediocre stadiums like the Stade De France in our country

London’s bid makes ground for Paris
Bloomberg

LONDON – London is making ground on frontrunner Paris in the race to stage the 2012 Summer Olympics, according to a Web site that tracks bids.
Another Internet-based analysis said the two cities have near identical appeal to International Olympic Committee members.
Gamesbid.com, which runs an index on the tenders, said London’s ”continuously aggressive style and highly competitive plan’’ has narrowed Paris’s advantage.
The French capital, rated the favorite by most bookmakers, edges London in ratings compiled by Around the Rings, an Olympics news Web site.
IOC members will vote July 6 in Singapore between London, Madrid, Moscow, New York and Paris. Winning would trigger investment ranging from $3.2 billion in New York to $6.9 billion in Paris, according to contenders’ estimates.
Gamesbid.com said ”a fundamentally strong plan makes Paris the top contender’’ but London’s marketing ”will attract the attention of IOC members.’’
Paris’s bid index slipped to 65.88, while London improved to its highest level of 63.40, followed by Madrid (61.11), New York (59.62) and Moscow (49.77). Beijing won the 2008 games with a record 75.44 points.
Gamesbid.com said its index is based on voting patterns rather than a bid’s technical quality. Around the Rings’s ”Bid Power Index’’ uses 11 criteria including transport, security, public support and cost.
Paris got 86 points out of a possible 110, London had 85, with New York 77, Madrid 75 and Moscow 66.
The index is designed to reflect factors IOC members may take into account rather than indicating which city will win, Around the Rings said. Its rankings are based on visits, bid documents and strategies.
New York loses out because it has the least public support of the bids and because the US held the Winter Olympics three years ago, according to Around the Rings, a subscription service.

Dont count your chickens yet.
