The Madrid 2012 logo looks so bland & boring. Just on that, it won't get my vote.

That is exactly what I was just about to tell to this guy filled with a "giant" self confidence that sounds more like arrogance to me...

I don't think Madrid has much of a chance though, France and Britain are much larger countries that havent had the Olympics as recently as Spain (esp Britain considering it can't have Winter olympics ), and are proposing to hold the Olympics in some of the best cities in the world - in addition both countries have bid many times for the games without any success...yet !

I am not too bothered who wins as long as it is Paris or London as that means i will be within 3hrs of the Olympics whatever .

Just watched an Olympic debate on ITV1...

Some ass was on there....oh Lee Valley is a dump....why have it there....what an idiot!

They said they expect the IOC to say its neck and neck between London and Paris today.

These are what I think will make and break the bids....

Paris...Out of date facilities...will need improving...Great support.

London...More international support, more fans in thens than any other country (bar greece)...Wembley stadium hit a bump....blame the aussies though!

NY...No proper regeneration plan, stadium dispute, bidding for the sake of bidding, Atlanta 96...

Madrid...Barca 92 not long ago, football fans bad reputation...large home support.

Moscow...Not the best of reputations...good bid on the other hand (bar the main stadium), will change the country forever.

The UK was quick to support the war on terrorism, and this will be a deciding factor when the vote is taken in Singapore, which is a former British colony, and today the republic that is the financial centre and Switzerland of South East Asia. It will be payback time for Tony Blair!.

Paris, London and New York Get Glowing IOC Reports
Posted 8:27 am ET (GamesBids.com)

The International Olympic Committee evaluation reports released this morning for the 2012 Olympic bids seem to favor Paris, London and New York - but the committee claim the cities were not ranked.

New York's received high technical marks but the report notes that the Olympic Stadium and International Broadcast Centre had not been approved. New York's public support is the lowest of the five bids based on an IOC poll.

While New York doesn't provide the same comprehensive financial guarantees that the other bids boast, the IOC didn't mention it as a negative issue and instead pointed to the strong revenue generating potential of the bid.

Both London and Paris also received strong reviews without too many objections from the evaluation commission.

"The candidature file and the information provided to the Commission during its visit were of a very high quality" were comments made about both of the bids.

Public suport for Paris is marginally ahead of London's.

Madrid was also given an excellent review but with subtle hints that it did not measure up to the top three.

"Detailed plans were presented in [Madrid's] candidature file and high quality presentations were given during the Commission’s visit by the key organisations involved in the preparation of the bid."

Madrid's public support was highest of the five bids.

While Moscow had the second best public support, the report suggests the bid is far behind the others.

Moscow's presentation had "...a lack of detailed planning in the candidature file and background information made it difficult for the Commission to evaluate the project."

GamesBids.com will continue to report this developing story.

The report was an anti-climax it simply stated what we all knew already (well those who took this seriously).

The report has only confirmed who is in 3rd place

1. Paris
2. London
3. Madrid
4 New York
5. Moscow

I want Coth to reappear so I can go back and quote all the ridiculous things he has said about Moscow and other cities.

I also want some Spanish forumers to have the balls to post who slate London as a city and one that they think is barely above Ulaan Baator in its ability to host a games.

Come on, if you think you're hard enough.

Where are all the Spanish forumers now, the ones who doubted London''s ability to run a bath let alone an olympic games.

The ones who think London is the worst city in the world and certainly one that could never stand up to the might of Benidorm.

Voting will still be interesting. Could there be tactical voting? The fact there are 4 eropean countries means split votes, will old colonial tes hold true, what about anglo saxon, spanish or francphone ties?.

If one euopean country goes out they may vote for New York in the hope of bidding again in the future. New Yorks votes may be more inclined to go for the UK.

It's hard to know exactly how the vote will go. I still think Paris are most likely to win, then London, and then just after madrid.

But it's not all about bids, and anything can happen in a month.
