O Rly? And you are gonna do what? I could make an incredibly easy stereotypic joke here, but I will pass.

1) - Arabic architectural traits are easily visible in this building (and the building itself is kinda cool)
2) - There are plenty of places of worship that have been converted from some other temple before - worshipping your god in a building is not any more valid in case of a specifically designed building, than in one that has traits of other cultures
3) - and finally, God does not care. Especially if He is supposedly The One God.

this building complex will look amazing. The Clock Tower is already the largest complex in the world and this will just make the whole thing like a mountain of architectural awesomeness

That's actually a render of a library.

The towers are ugly, at least based on what Ive seen in the renders.

That was more of a general comment, regarding the way he acted about a building of such architectural style being built in a holy city. But thanks for pointing it out.

An impressive project. The capital of the Muslim world deserves to be a modern and functional city, even if it comes at the cost of destroying large swaths of haphazard, yet organic earlier development.

While the architecture is pretty generic, it is a nice blending of the "original" Al Bait tower complex to this GIANT new one. Uniform but still seems classy enough to get the sheer people challenge done. I mean.. the figures on OP... INSANE.

yes, better than 20 unique colorful towers in a mess of a skyline. I like it a lot and it suits the area.

finally some news on it, didn't even think about looking at google earth. so the project is not yet prep like the title says but more of in the middle of a giant demolition combo although the upper right corner looks like it may be preparation works. some close up photos would be nice after all. and it is so long since we last heard about the project so the original plans might not even be the final plans.

Also, what ever happened to the Jabal Omar project that was shown being under construction in post #17? (over three years ago)
