NICE | Public Transport

Since 1/2010, LIGNES D'AZUR is the name of the transport network which combines the old Ligne d'Azur of the Urban Community Nice Côte d'Azur and Transport Alpes-Maritimes of the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes district.
The "Sunbus" (older network) was renamed Ligne d'Azur in January 1st, 2005 during the unification of the transport networks of the Urban community Nice Côte d'Azur then Community of Town. Since this change, this one was reshaped, of new created lines and painting has changed to times.

The transport network of Nice Côte d'Azur and the district of the Alpes-Maritimes is exploited, for the greater part, by the company ST2N which is a subsidiary of the group Transport Veolia.
It is the company asked to manage the services of transport for the Urban community Nice Côte d'Azur within the framework of the contract of delegation of public utility.
The ST2N company thus assures the operating of a big part of lines and the marketing of the tickets by applying capacities defined by the Urban community and the General Council.
ST2N proceeds to the various studies of development of the network and the price lists which have to be in agreement with the policy of transport.

Not being able effector all the services itself (about 175 lines or services), the ST2N delegates to several chartered companies certain lines (urban netork: Rapides Côte d'Azur of Véolia, Société Automobile de Provence of Kéolis, Société des Autocars Martin of the group Hervouet, Transports Régionaux des Alpes Maritimes of the group Péglion, and to the independent companies TANP, Bréma and Abéllo and more for the suburban network).

Although the networks of the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes and the urban community merged, the pricing is always in standardization and there are still this day (in October, 2010) two different tariff ranges: one for the local area of Nice Côte d'Azur and one for the interurban network of the General Council autority but the both, the one-way ticket costs 1€.

A card of unique transport is in project for several years. The preliminary tests in its implementation were launched on March 15th, 2010.

Nice chooses design for Citadis X05 trams for second line from 30 November 2015 to 31 January 2016.

I personally like the mask of the second one although the side color arrangements of the 1 and 3 one are the best.

I'd go with number 3 personally.

Do we have any construction photos of line T2?

I'm not a big fan of those catenary-free trams: french cities are becoming hostages of a system patented by a single company.
