You really dont understand what the problem is. Pretend this was a car, and he's claimed that his little homemade car will travel at 800km/h. He's basically claiming that he's going to build a car better than any Merc, BMW, VW, Toyota etc etc EVER built. We aren't laughing at the fact that he TRYING, its the specifications and claims that he's making. He cant be expected to be taken seriously.....

Your analogy is a FAIL (as you like to say). A faster car is by no means a better car.

I think you're just forcing yourself not to understand what I'm saying. My only gripe with this guy is the SPECIFICATIONS that he has stated. Not the fact that he's doing something with his life. If you dont understand what I'm about to say, then I give up....

Aircraft made my Boeing, Airbus etc etc fly at a maximum altitude of around 40 000 feet. If they could go any higher they would. Airbus and Boeing have some of the world's best engineers and have decades of experience. Now this guy claimes that his homemade plane will fly at double that height.

He claimes that his aircraft will fly at 930km/h. The average commercial jet will sustain speeds of around 1000km/h. Do you now see where my gripes lie? In nun of my posts did I say his aircraft will never fly, all I'm saying is that he's making a fool out of himself with those specs that he stated. If his Skyhawk flies, it wont out perform any other small aircraft already on the market......the images and videos make that very clear

It is a great achievement for someone to create such an aircraft with limited funding and limited aid from the government.

To me that is a greater achievement than having the government aid you.

Obviously it is small, but it is admirable nonetheless.

There are not many people in Africa, from South Africa, Morocco, Nigeria, Kenya anywhere that could do this.

This is irrelevant, we have already established the fact that Europeans developed faster than Africans. Just like Japanese developed faster than Indians. Some people just got lucky.

The plane is crap but this guy is an entrepeneur and he managed doing something by his own hands, if someone helped him he could start a decent aircraft industry in Uganda, why not? Let's not forget most companies in America started as humble garage experiments.
