Liberty avenue is a beautiful place and is impressive for a small country like Portugal however it's a shame that there are homeless people lying around the countries most prestigious avenue, the pavement and asphalt etc are a disgrace.
Lisbons mayor is doing a terrible job, I don't think it's so hard to kick out a few hobos and "fix" the avenue...

I can't give my opinion in Liberty Avenue's pavement because I do not use the Avenue by foot very often, altough, last time I used it, I didn't see any problems to be honest. The asphalt is another matter... It is good on the central axis, yes, except for one thing: the bus lane. It's very "bumpy" and uncomfortable, and it is common to me to use public transportation in that area so I know what I'm saying.

In relation to the homeless people, for a country like Portugal, it's not the biggest surprise ever. I agree that the homeless people should be relocated, and not to some other area of the city, but yes to a shelter where they get support to get them a job (difficult thing in Portugal this days...) and a better life.

They will fix it eventually. There are more refurbishment projects going on now than in the last 40 years. The private investment in those buildings will force the city council to fix the avenue.

About Duque de Loulé 86, each apartment in that building (97 of them) will have a covered parking space? This is a rarity in a non-car-centric environment. The parking spaces would have to be in the building's basement or something.

The Official Website states exacty that, something that is seen in the the work underground seen in the third picture.

In relation to the second statement, Lisbon was completely car-centric for a long time (for example, Praça do Comércio was a parking lot back in the 90's) but things are starting to change in my opinion (although having a car is still pretty common).

Duque de Loulé 86 is also located near three major arteries of the city, which can also explain the option for so many parking spaces.

Cais do Sodré Requalification | Lisbon

Requalification works at Cais do Sodré, one of the most important transport hubs of Lisbon, will start in October, said Fernando Medina (Mayor of Lisbon).

Visiting Lisbon

My wife and I visited your wonderful city for the first time last month and fell in love with it! We stayed in a lovely apartment in Chiado.

Being a first-time visitor to this thread, I'm not certain it's the appropriate place to post some pictures that I took. If it is, here are some pictures; if it's not then a moderator should feel free to delete them.

Something I forgot to mention in my last post: Must be catering to the upper-class (or probably the upper-middle-class) with each apartment of the Duque de Loulé 86 having one parking space. Should any residents of that building and its immediate neighbourhood be without a car, the Marques de Pombal metro station is nearby.

The information given on the official website is not complete, so we cannot see the price of each apartment. However, due to the facts presented, we can assume that the project will be for the upper-middle class.

And yes, if a resident does not have a car, they have the Underground nearby (not one, but yes two underground stations, Marquês de Pombal and Picoas).
