I don't think that is an actual render of the bridge. It is just a general photo on the site.

Also the bridge is built by a Portuguese company not Chinese.

This is the bridge. The Catembe bridge is a project that has been planned for about 3 years even before the Chinese took interest. David Simango who is the mayor of Maputo did not clarify on further development of the project due to major examinations. The Portuguese were not 100% going to finance all the construction of the bridge. David simango confirmed to the mozambican media that the bridge is funded by both Portuguese and Chinese investors. With the Chinese having interest in constructing a city in Catembe, the Chinese sealed a contract with the municipality of Maputo that in order for them to start building the city, they must first work on building the bridge to which they clarified to add some finance on the project. The construction of the bridge starts in April. I will be very angry if things don't go as planned. But in Mocambique when they schedule to construct a project on a certain date, it usually means 2 months after.

http://www.ayrinfrastructure.com/inf..._projects.html scroll through this link to see a small render of the bridge. It is a huge bridge.

The bridge is not going to be built by a Chinese company. It is financed with money from the Portuguese government as promised by the minister (Socrates) and is going to be built by Mota-Engil - a PT company.

Also, the image is for illustrative purposes only. And yes, the Chinese have an interest because they are developing Katembe city but that is different. Let's hope they are pressured to start ASAP and don't backtrack on their promise.

Also just wanted to add, the construction will be done by Mota-Engil but the design was completed by a company based here in Australia (AYR Australia).

(If the Portuguese was too wierd)

This will really help out Mozambique's tourist industry by linking Maputo to Ponte de Ouro.

I tell you, Mozambique will be the next Goa
