same here. the design is fantastic but i would let out that spire though it will probably make the tower far over 600m tall

I don't think so. Just because it was designed by Fender Katsalidis didn't mean that everything gonna be similar to his previous designs.

it's a work in progress.. everything should be ready by now behind the stage, the only remaining problem they need to decide on is the traffic control & diversion (for smooth transportation of all the building materials to the site, public safety, the risks and all..)

Work on Warisan Merdeka may kick off in 3 months
FRANCIS DASS Published: 2013/07/09

KUALA LUMPUR: Construction of Malaysia's newest iconic Menara Warisan Merdeka should kick off in three months.

Its owner and developer Permodalan Nasional Bhd expects to meet the various criteria set by Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur in its Development Order as a precondition for green lighting the behemoth project.

PNB president and group chief executive officer Tan Sri Hamad Kama Piah said among pressing issues being ironed out are access roads and routes within the project development area.

He spoke to reporters after receiving the "Global CEO of the Year" award by the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM) here yesterday.

The award was originally announced on July 4 at the "Global Excellence in Management Awards 2013" gala night.

However, Hamad Kama Piah was travelling with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak at the time, hence a special ceremony was held to present it to him on his return.

PNB, Malaysia's biggest fund management company, currently has RM247 billion in assets under management, compared with the RM41 billion it had when Hamad Kama Piah first headed PNB 15 years ago.

Under Hamad Kama Piah's stewardship, PNB has expanded its global footprint and the investment giant today has international offices in London, Tokyo and Singapore.
