It kind of looks like Fosters old design for the WTC. Nice building.

It's crazy to look at that diagram and realize that buildings like the WTC, Taipei 101, Petronas, SWFC, Sears Tower etc. are now on the smaller end of supertall buildings. Just insane.

EDIT: Since that diagram includes u/c buildings Nordstrom should be on there, that makes two for North America

Also the ICC in Hong Kong

I'd say early in the morning, when there are few people out, and the guards have become sleepy as it's near the end of a long night shift... or maybe if you work out a deal with the building owners and do it legally, you could do it a little later, but preferrably before the sun starts to heat the side of the tower you're climbing on.

...but you'd probably have to wait until there is a building to climb at all. When that will be, I have no idea.

Do you guys think this will take over the Petronas Towers as Kuala Lumpur's poster child? There's a great deal of merchandise and tourist souvenirs that have the Petronas Towers as centrepiece; it'll be weird to see that change to KL118.

no I don't think so. Petronas have been the tallest in the world and also a symbol for a long time already. When you visit Shanghai, you will realize that still most merchandise is for oriental pearl... jin mao, swfc and shanghai tower all were not able to change that, although being that much more impressive. Fame is hard to earn, but when you have it, it's easy to keep.

My initial thoughts upon finding out about the KL118 project were: "If anyone's gonna build a supertall tower to surpass the Petronas Towers, then that supertall had better be damn good, or it's not gonna get built."

It seems there's another supertall beeing build right next to WM. As part of the whole complex. In any other rendering including the city model WD stands alone?!

The same company "kone" which provides the elevators for the Kingdom Tower also constructed them for KL118.
I'm not an expert but this company seems to be not only ONE of the leading constructors in this industry...

KONE Corporation, press release, June 25, 2014

KONE, an innovative leader in elevators and escalators, will be supplying 105 elevators and escalators to KL118 Tower, a 118-storey mixed use tower developed by PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Comprising of a total of more than 400,000sqm of residential, hotel and commercial functions, KL118 tower is expected to be the tallest building in Malaysia, upon completion in 2019, a new landmark of the country.
