If you meant Putrajaya then I have to agree with you especially during the weekdays as the populace mainly consists of government workers but with the exception on weekends, at night or during special events held along the main stretch of street(rather often in Malaysia standards), that's when they mostly spend their time outdoors.

Kl is much less that and generally livelier for obvious reasons but for me, access for pedestrians still leaves much to be desired outside the immediate CBD area. Also I wish there more open spaces and greenery and old trees that adds to the ambience of the place and looks pretty darn nice tbh. The old district in the ROL project seems nice tho, wish we had more like that.

Yeah. As a local, there's a hot debate in our subforums about restricting street life because it's either disruptive or un-Malaysian.

Oh how our priorities differ.

Aiyo, are you referring to the RoL? I think the main issue them taking up prime viewing spots and the use of loudspeakers. Yes, some dislike the dangdut. But not all. Personally, I welcome variety. But I also do understand some of the concerns. That day, there were some buskers in the LRT station. They were good singers, I support them by giving some money. But the loud speakers were much too loud. I think some regulations about the noise levels of loudspeakers are appropriate or even the use of loudspeakers. Also, I do think we need some other types of street performances apart from dangdut - acoustic, traditional, classical or even a capella.

Apart from that, I suspect the OP was referring to the lack of pedestrian traffic so it looks desolate. Apart from a few small areas, KL not really have the type of pedestrian traffic like you see in Tokyo or Paris. I think the problem is the lack of nice pedestrian pavements and shady tree canopies and attractive cafe/storefront lined streets. I remember years ago one minister made a comment about the lack of attractive storefronts lining the streets in KL and too many shops are car workshops.

Details regarding the cladding and the lighting of Merdeka PNB 118 from the architect himself, Karl Fender on his Instagram. Credits all to him.
