What do you mean by that?

Another midrise development starts construction. We need a new thread for this. Can anyone start one with the above rendering included( sorry, don't know how to do this). Don't know what it is to be called, probably best to be known as Quarry Hill new apartments or something similar |

Thanks Ahmedd, that must explain it, just seemed too close to Novatel and the footprint is so small ! Like you say I'm sure they're gonna need extra juice around here !

To back that up, there's no planning consent for these works either - which is commensurate with it being undertaken by a statutory undertaker such as an electricity distributor, as they have certain permitted development rights to carry out these sort of works.

I've started to update the building list on page 1. Done the first 16 so far.
It is a new format with completed and under construction buildings combined on the same list. I've knocked off the cranes as we have the seperate crane count thread, and that would need updating too often.

Thanks Ahmed.
There, I've updated all the existing and under construction buildings, and totals. Just the 'proposed buildings' section to do. I think I'll go and get a cup of tea now.

Cheers Rob - top effort! Been looking forward to the revised list - looks great.
3 very small requests/items though ![]() There isn't a blue outline box round the top 16 Doesn't Lumiere count as under construction? Anychance you could order it top left = 1, top right = 2 For example: 1. Plaza 2. BWP 3. Opal 4. WRH Rather than 1. Plaza 9. City Island 2 2. BWP 10.Blue? Thanks! |

Hi LeedsLad,
Not sure about the blue boxes, there seems to be one on my display, round each strip of eight. As it is now its like reading column 1 then column 2 (like in a newspaper). It would be difficult to re-arrange them to read across, although I can see they would read a bit more clearly. The other way they can be arranged is to run all the way down in one single column, but that may get a bit long. As for Lumiere, we think they are still testing the piles so haven't actually started proper construction yet. I'll update the list when it does.

I just thought it would be easier to see the top 10 in one go...
Otherwise you have 1-4 and 9-12 on your screen at once... |

Just noticed this on my work computer, seems it is displaying an older image for the top two for some reason. Just press 'refresh' and it will display the new images with the blue border.
I've tried putting them in one column, so they are displayed with highest to lowest in straight order. Is that any better?

but doesnt 'construction' mean theyve actually started work on it.=, ie its the point when its no longer just an approval which could potentially never come to fruitition, under construction means its a 100% cert its being built given that the grounds are bein cleared and test piles are goin in, and workers appearing on site.

also well done on the continued update cheers rob
feel free to use my updated list, there's a few new ones added such as dandra project in holbeck urban village that's 20 stories. Also, remember my list is a little subjective if u know wot i mean. For example, while the gateway site is under construction, the actuall tallest tower hasnt actually started yet. But for me personally its under the UC list because the whole development is UC, and for me it means its going to be built, as opposed to "approved" that means nothing, in the sense that sometimes even a development with a 30 storey not even submitted yet, but the whole site is under construction, is more likely to be built than many of the approveds that have been actionless for years and years.anyway im rabbitin know. heres that list

I definately wouldn't say ground clearance is under construction, as many sites get cleared without building starting (eg City Sq House). Test piles possibly could be seen as starting construction, but not in my book, they can take place many months before actual work starts. I consider it to be under construction when concrete is poured on actual genuine piling. At that point, the first part of the building has physically been built.
