That's truly impressive, I guess the price will be equally impressive.

There are several trains with various packages, but approximately it will be in between 2500 USD to around 6000 USD per person per trip. For ex:
(1) Royal Rajasthan - $4130 per person, per trip
(2) Palace on Wheels - $3500
(3) Deccan Odyssey - $3500, $5600
(4) Golden Chariot - $2450

Yeah apart from one the others are not that special. This is the fairy queen, world's oldest steam loco in use. the train runs between delhi and alwar where there is a tiger reserve.

cc:shantanu dutt

The others are just boring, ugly locomotives used in other indian trains.

This one looks cute, a bit like Disney.

Well if you look at the prices they aren't exactly cheap. It is just that there is a demand for them.

Those are luxury trains for rich people, with good promotion plus really cool interiors, there is always a demand regardless of the price. I think they are just like some handbags sold at $10k-20k each, yet you still have to pre-order and wait for a couple of months or even years before you can buy one.

Anyway, appreciate the pictures and keep them coming if there are more
