Germany refining autonomous personal copters

Thanks to German MyCopter project at the DLR Aerospace center which is actively working on "enabling technologies for personal aerial transportation"

By the time BSB Sky City Changsha is ready, autonomous copters will be able to safely shuttle passengers through Sky City's 6 helipads.

By the time sky city is ready, we indeed may have personal copters and flying cars for all that I know

A Radio Controlled Toy and a Video Game? Cute
Still doesn't mean that Helicopters will replace cars. You will never see 100,000, 10,000, or even 5000 helicopters flying around one city at the same time, and that was my point. Sky City might have a small fleet of Helicopters to shuttle it's residents around and that's possible, but it has been proven time and time again, that even the best Helicopter pilots in the world, can't safely land at high altitudes next to an object like a Skyscraper. Even landing in the wide open at high altitudes is very tricky.

If you were around in the 80's and 90's, we were all to be floating around in flying cars and Hoverboards by now
Back to the future was a pretty good movie

I read a short story where San Francisco was a radioactive ghost town, and we had automated robots cooking us breakfast. And that was supposed to be in 2026.

Love the new staggered rendering. Gives it just enough variety to make it appear engaging. Those downward angled renderings look far beyond 200 floors, though.

I'd still say, even if they do miss their target deadline by years, to still show and prove it can be done is good enough if it ends up being usable, safe, and successful architecture.

Really? A ramp for cars until the 170th floor? I cant's see it. I don't imagine driving so high. Some times it's really frustrating to climb more than 3 underground floors of parking, I can't imagine 170. And also would take SOOOOO long.

It's not for cars, just for pedestrians.

A few pages before we talked about it.

This "less than a year" is taking really long! lol

I think the company(ies) really turned up this project to an unrealistic level. Next time, they shouldn't be this bold in saying how great a tower is going to be.

J97 is not built on the moon or in the middle of a desert, no, it is located in a populated area. If there was anything happening we had seen pictures of it. And if they were able to finish a supertall in this little time why would they not brag about it?

There simply aren't many Chinese speakers on this forum. Need to source from a Chinese forum and bring that info here.
