The shape/design is not fissible for a tower that height. The wind tunnel testing will fail it quickly. There's a reason Burj Khalifa has round shapes and the setbacks on each wing seams to be randonly aligned.

Must be a concept model then. Maybe they'll announce a design contest with two conditions. 1: Use our construction method. 2: Make it world's tallest.

Well even though sears is just a boxy structure I can definitively feel it was "designed". I mean beyond it's brutal nature it has this artistic thing to it. It's just beautiful. This one is imo disproportionate and too regular in shape. I especially don't like small box on top of it. But it is impressive for other reasons.

Of course it is just a concept model.

As for the construction method, the problem is with the structural core (in Burj Khalifa most of the structure serves as the "core"). They may speed up using pre-fab, but I don't know how rigid that would be for such heights.

It's not really a special design...but if build it'll probably look quite impressive.
But the wind will be indeed a problem for this design.

They've already placed orders for 2.7 million tonnes of steel for this tower. The investment sum will be no less than 4 billion yuan. There will be a network of streets from floors 1 to 120, complete with shops, markets, diners, cinemas, school, and parks. 16 elevators for sightseeing purposes, 31 super speed elevators capable of transporting 30,000 people per hour.

Impressive. I'm feeling pretty confident about this project, the group is serious and in China, anything can happen. There's a 597m tower going up in a Tianjin suburb, this tower, also in China, is no less unlikely

and actual scale models show that they really want to show their idea around and put money and afford into it to realize that.

I still wouldn't put my money on this, but lets see what happens.

And btw they gave us new ridiculous numbers. 7 months construction and completion till the end of the year

Broad Group is based in Changsha, Hunan.

Zhang Yue, CEO/Broad Group founder is a bit nutty. His home:

I think he has all the qualifications to pull this off .

Just imagine when Broad Group starts building super tall solar/wind power harnessing towers .

And his company's previous BSBs (Broad Sustainable Buildings) projects earned praise even from the UN for its environment-friendly features and practicality....

everything come down to egoism, it will take decade to fill up the entire floors, while all the construction around the city may have to stop.

This just ain't gonna happen . Changsha simply doesn't have a market for it in the first place but even if it did , there are some serious concerns related to construction as has been mentioned ad nauseum .
