This is not just "his home". It's the headquarters of the company, and the French château is used as an office building. It may be that he indeed lives in the château, but Broad Town is really the company's home.

Interesting article on the company and its headquarters: http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/...m-town/5616/1/

BSB wasn't planning on formally announce this project until August, but the information got leaked when it signed an agreement with a partner on June 5th, so they were forced to confirm this project with the media. This project (internally known as project J220) was officially initiated in April, so far it hasn't received governmental approval yet.

I for one am also pretty confident about this project, Broad is one of the most innovative company in the world and a reputable supplier of various building component. Their prefabricated building technology is one of the most advanced in the world, and the 30 story building demonstrated that they have the technological and logistical capacity to pull it off. There is no doubt that this project is a show piece for BSB, its bread and butter is still going to be much smaller, more practical buildings. The seven month figure is pretty reasonable, especially if that doesn't include pouring the foundation, which they didn't include in the 15 day figure for the 30 floor hotel. The other, less believable rumor is that seven month is the total time frame, including foundation and module manufacturing, and the actual onsite assembly will only take two months.

Also it's a bit ignorant to compare a traditional building to a prefabricated building because you also have to count the time it takes to manufacture the modules in the factory, if all those times are added together the total construction time will be much closer to a traditional supertall. This tower gets built quickly doesn't mean it's made poorly and unsafe, but simply because of the prefab technique.

Isn't he the guy that completed a skyscraper in 14days? he uses prefabricated materials that are brought in and put together on site.

Sky City in Changsha, China, World No.1 building, planning 838m.

The new record will be refreshed by the planning skyscraper located in Changsha City, China. The project will closed at end of this year.

The total height is about 838m, 220 floors with accomodation of 30,000 people, overall invest no less than 4 Billion RMB(approx 633 million USD).

The project duration will be estimated about 7 month.
How fast you can imagine?

The new landmark will be 10m higher than the current Dubai Tower.

From 847 to 838? Does that mean they should have started 9 days ago? Rememeber, 1 day= 1 floor! haha

With this kind of calculation they just have to wait 6 month and then build a 120m tower! lol

Lego blocks made of concrete and steel won't stack up to 838m, it simply doesn't work. My guess: 838m in 4-5 years will be optimistic.

imo it will be build fast or not at all. 5 years schedule is for conventional technology and as we know they are not going to use it. Well they could, but that would be pointless in the context of the product they are trying to sell.

It stretches credulity to think that this could go up in 6 months, but the size is doable with simple box/girder older construction methods.

Sears/Willis Tower could have been much larger. Just increase the number of columns from 9 to 16 or 25 and peel them off as the building ascends.

This doesn't look revolutionary from design, but from methodology.

220 floors and 838+ metres...wow.
