i would love to see the same magatall rising in several cities around the world, i do not think it will destroy skylines if placed in the right spot and i don't mind it looking the same as in another city, there are so many buildings looking similar anyways. and i really anjoy the boxy style, it is not the best, but coud be worse. and the size alone is so massive that it will look amazing. a not original megatall is far better to me than an original <350m building. because, sometimes size does matter. my view may change when more cities have megatalls, but if a city does not have one then even a boring design one will be a good thing to happen.

^ LOL, hell no. The best example for this being so wrong is probably Tour Montparnasse in central Paris.

Just for the sake of having something tall somewhere, you really shouldn't sacrifice all aesthetic merits and ruin your cityscape.

i also think this should be build 1 time and not more. but i don't think it would look bad if build in a flat area. Look at Taipe 101, it sticks out of the city and looks great IMO

If it will be built once, the project is excellent, but if it will be built many times, the project is bizarre. I really can´t imagine, for example Prague castle standing also in Brno, Bratislava, Warsaw, Bucharest and many other cities, instead of their original dominants. Imagine 1WTC in every US or Chinese city... This project seems to me like architectural madness - building of scrap-heaps. I can imagine the tower 2x in the same city, World Trade Center in NY also included 2 identical towers...

This kind of childish nomenclature is so pointless.

And ignorant:

http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=hyper-&allowed_in_frame=0

http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?...wed_in_frame=0

Super (from Latin) and Hyper (from Greek) both have the exact same meaning.

Edit: nothing against KamT personally; it seems like you were being ironic as well.

Hehe, don't get me wrong. I too would love to see such audacious architectural challenges as the 2000m tower become a reality within my lifetime! :O

i think gigatall would start at 1200m, twice the height of a megatall. or at 900m if it is to be a linear scale.

in that case i would go for 1000m as gigatall because it's the magic mark of 1km

What's the point of even having a 1600 meter tower? 600 meters or so should stay the average limit for a while, because after that, buildings start to look silly.

I don't think tall towers are silly, I think it is natural that towers grow taller and taller. I bet that one day towers won't be considered towers anymore, but space stations anchored on a planet. The possibilities of the future are limitless.
