600m limit? Are you a skyscraperfan or not?

Taller = better . That 838m tall boxy tower would be soooo awesome

Maybe it is just a rumour, but this article says there will be a Ritz Carlton Hotel inside the Sky City Tower:

I would say the whole tower is still a rumor until they really start building it. >_>

Super (from Latin) and Hyper (from Greek) both have the exact same meaning.

Edit: nothing against KamT personally; it seems like you were being ironic as well.
I know this is a bit back, but I found a counter-argument!

Hypersonic speed is one step above Supersonic speed, yet they still mean the same thing (technically).

This proves meanings can be bent through popular usage!

Hypertall it is!

I too don't like too high skyscrapers. Over maybe 800 m or so it's starting to look silly and disproportionate. I like skyscrapers and supertalls and between 200 m and 800 m is the best height imo.

yeah i totally agree, i can't imagine any skyline that would hurt a 800m monster, if only it is in the right place (eg chicago spire was not imo). a monster cannot really destroy a skyline at all for me, it just changes it. for example hong kong has one of the most balanced and nicest skyline in the world, yet i wouldn't mind a megatall rising and breaking this symmetry and balance a bit

I have to disagree with your comment on the spire, just check this out -

Eh, that tower was only supposed to be in the 600m range. And anyway, height and size are not the same thing. Sky City would not only be incredibly tall, it would also be massive, with a footprint greater than that of the Burj.

Until there is a real need for an arcology housing a million people, anything over 2000m won't happen.

Anything above 300m is extremely tall, and anything above 600m is just ridiculously tall. Just because China and Dubai seem to have a hobby of making un-needed mega skyscrapers, doesn't mean that 600m isn't tall.

yeah totally out of place, i also didn't like the design, but if this was inside the city and not outside i wouldn't have minded it being built, in that location i was quite happy it got cancelled
