100 floors tower for Ningxia will be similar to the one in Fuan, Fujian?

This Picture taken around the same time as your background cityscape. (a bit earlier in the mid 90s)

Here is Changcha c.a 2011, notice the effect of height restriction. It looks like a even haircut of building from top left edge to the right edge.

The air force base is planning to move to a more remote area, thus the height restriction will be lifted, hence the massive real estate speculation.

It's not a sphinx, it's a statue of a young Mao Tse-tung.

"Some web users praised the "far-sightedness" of the Changsha government, while others compared the statue to the Sphinx."
It seems you're not the only one who sees a sphinx.

It does.

I'm just thinking about how long you have to walk to reach that point of the island since the bridge that connects it to the mainland is so far away.

That's a statue of ROFLMAO? Interesting, so he didn't look always like Mickey Mouse

Thanks Zorg. Does this superscede the Sky City proposal however? I'd imagine that that's a totally seperate project from the looks of it. Well, still hoping at any rate of either of these being built. Hopefully they can get the permissions and approvals they need.

I presume they want to test the technology by incrementally scaling it up.

The person responsible for the largest mass murdering in history now gets a statue where he looks like Fabio? Tasteless.

Hope they get the proportions right on the new proposal this time...

Why did they give him a Tumor on the right side of his head? That's gotta be the size of a softball. Or does he have a big right ear?
