This is a proposal for the tallest skyscraper in the world. If construction begins soon, then it would be finished long before any other project of similar height, so it is noteworthy. Past BSB projects have proved that the construction method is fast and clean. As long as there is no official word that the project is cancelled, this thread should remain open.

I figure for something like this, it would be announced or mentioned that whatever tower would replace it is well, a replacement. Keep in mind if they're waiting for approval, there may be a delay currently due to the CNY. But amazingly at how fast they could build and assemble this, we could wait 3 YEARS for them to start and they'd still finish faster than Kingdom Tower. Basically I'm saying too that yeah, let's wait for some official word before just calling it cancelled.

It seems the competition got tougher, as Pakistan just got investments of US$45 billion from Abu Dhabi to build the worlds tallest tower. Remember Pakistanis are among the top five buyer's of land in Burj Khalifa and in Dubai generally.

Not very soon, maybe never. Nobody knows when or if they'll start construction.

What i really really really don't like about this building is that it's in a city that no one really knows about, and not many outsiders will see it. How about Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing? If it was in Pudong it would've looked awesome.

Idk, is Jeddah really known either? (The only reason I know Changsha is because I was born there.)

Jeddah's fairly well known to people who actually pay attention, of course not as well known as shanghai, hong kong etc but it's still known. Unlike Changsha.

Well, at least around 1,4 billion people have heard about Changsha. Can you say that about Jeddah?
