even if we get tens of buildings build with that, some may be pure boxes, some may have spires, some may have set ins etc etc. the cladding will look different as well. these buildings will not give the feeling of being duplicates of each other and if some of them do they might become amazing twin tower concepts

I'm just afraid that more advanced designs will be compromised. Don't get me wrong, I'm an avid shoebox fan, but I like complex designs to be mixed in with them as well.

Exactly!! When they can start making some prefabricated curves, then this might actually be appealing. So far, what I've seen, just looks like a bunch of different Sears like towers. That would get old fast IMO.

They'll be able to do that stuff soon enough, it'll just take a little time. I think boxes are the ideal shape to start with. I wouldn't worry too much.

I hate to say it but I think it will be the same as in November last year. It should have started but silently, without any form of announcement, November has passed and nothing happened. Shortly before this thread would go into the archives as cancelled Broad issued new claims which gave the proposal new life, but was it the life of a future project or just the life of a practical joke, of a publicity stunt of sort? Well, who knows?

I imagine they could just make a box and then attach a curved or different shaped facade on to the outside of the building.

That sounds like the equivalent of building a stage prop at Disney World

I know what you mean lol! But I think it would work. They have done it on a few buildings in the UK and Japan.

Hello, SKy City, where are you? I heard you should have been completed by March 2013, so where are you? I guess if I want to find you I must learn a bit about biology to find out what part of the brain is responsible for dreaming

I guess I should post the most fitting video for this project:
