Yeah the thing I was going to say is if you see in the video clips, one of the columns being placed is marked "3F88" hence, probably being the 88th piece for the 3rd floor. That test tower due to the perspective appears taller than it is with the ground in view just to the left.

So while that may not be the 400m building proposed by Broad elsewhere, it does appear to be a construction assembly test for Skycity to show the workers ok here's how we assemble the new pieces instead of the old ones / work out any last minute per se details when it comes to actually handling the new construction.

I don't know of course but it'd be a guess to say that that model could serve as also a sample for the local authorities to grant sufficient permissions (along with the tons of paperwork of course). The biggest thing is that the sample allows them to train workers how to put together their new standardized forms.

But no, last we saw, the actual Sky City plot is still being excavated and won't be ready for a few months still. The tower should have 6 floors underground so they have a lot of work ahead of them. I am curious to see if it's simply excavate some, build coffer walls, go 6F down, do piles and slab and then just start their modular construction right from there, or if the lowest 6 floor will be more traditional.

For their timeframes being called out, I'd probably imagine the former.

That building can be seen in this slide, on the bottom. It's maybe a dozen floors.

off topic, but G.A.M.E.R, in your signature you name the tallest in 2020. do you really think Azerbaijan Tower has a higher chance to be built by 2020 than Century Plaza, Caiwuwei and Warisan Merdeka, which all are taller than Ping An and you did not name them?

ok, I wrong is Century Plaza 729 m tall? what year the tower were finished? one more, what year Caiwuwei Financial Center were finished?
I think Azerbaijan Tower still the tallest one in 2020 (before other project planned and built)

Century Tower is on preparation work currently, i expect it to be finished in 2019 or 2020, but hard to say. Azerbaijan Tower if built will not finish before 2020 i think, but the developers plan to now, although their previous date for the building was 2025, so we will see. Caiwuwei could start any day now or in years or never, no idea, still more likely than Azerbaijan Tower in my opinion.

Why not? I'm fairly certain it's exactly the building in the video, which was shot from the building across the street, so none of the build up area show up in the picture.

The buildings in the lower part of that screenshot are a + shaped cluster comprised of five different buildings near each other one building. The screenshot from the video is one building that is more than likely smaller-dimensioned than those five, but still in a + shape. Look at the shape they both make in plan; it's readily clear they're two different sites. Now for Broad's construction sites, sure, they not be too far away from each other but I couldn't tell you how far apart they are since you see mostly nothing in the mockup test image.

Hmm after looking again yeah it's probably that one then. The angle would *have* to be looking at the side that is reaching higher than the 7th floor since from the one screenshot, we see at least 8 floors pending completion and 10 or more floors meant for the center part of the building (which that cluster indeed has). My mistake

ok, look at the area in google earth, and look at one of Sky City render. Is there any building around it? only trees and building beside the trees

But remember it's a render. You can show anything you want to in a render. Even if it's the same building or a different one, it won't really matter. It appears they've had good sense to make a huge mockup test so if that'll help them for the final building, more power to them.

before it starts construction upwards i wonder if they will be putting live cams up or only some stationary cameras to film the progress, because there is no way broad is not filming this construction for later videos

I'm sure they will film it. But not necessarily put a live web cam there.

Ok...clearly they are grading a site for something.

This one is in the realm of 'believe it when I see it'. Waiting on foundation work.

...or will this one not have a foundation?...

These images are definitely of a building technique for something taller than 30F. But how tall?
