Well that's just "your" opinion .. so what??
whether you think it's hideous, ridiculous.. that's your thoughts..
btw seems like your'e a "Negative Nancy" reading some of your replies.. sad
I think it's beautiful and so do other people..
Sao Paulo and Panama City are two very interesting cities with a tropical feel something different than other cities. with extense culture and history.. won't ruin this thread for your fun anyway..
hope you find happiness lol

guys, you are very sensitive!

he is not saying Panama or SP are ugly or bad; he's just saying its avenues don't have conditions to be on a top ten list.

relax!

Mar.Alex is a prominent mexican megatroll!
Half of his post are anti-Argentina, the other half are anti-Brazil. (just see his statistics)
I think this troll hadn't even seen pics of Diagonal Norte if he says " what the special feature has this avenue ???"

Bostwana is not argentinean surely, he's canadian or a foreingner living in Canada.

Dear mods, please ban trolls IPs!!!!
They are ruinning lots of threads!

Hey there well I am relaxed just that I see that the forumer is being a little bit exagerated by saying "fugly" to the avenues that was posted by myself and the brazilian forumer previously... I respect his thoughts and views but it seems like he/she's being negative on too many posts, likewise I am unaware of people's tracks through the forum just caught my attention, but overall nothing major.
It's sad as you mentioned that people have to use other nicknames to give a comment or thought which usually is offensive or insulting.

Of course I`m negative. I criticize architecture all the time. If you don`t like it, fine, but without criticism, we will never better ourselves. Sometimes I think people have this idea that everything in their country is beautiful, and then they call you a troll if you disagree. I think some of these avenues are rather unsightly, and are nothing but a case of nationalism, and I`m sorry you have a problem with my opinion, but it`s not going to change. Although I appreciate you look through my posts. It makes me feel important. I hope there are no hard feelings, but I am a very negative person when it comes to architecture.

And to the troll that called me Argentinean, I was born and still live in Canada and have never even set foot in that country (although I`d like to). Do us all a favor and stuff it.

I totally agree with you, never mentioned anything about nationalism, of course every person will either defend or stand up for what they believe in and when it comes to their country or a place they love, well people will be very defensive sometimes in a extreme way to the point where it's over the top or simply be passive about it.
However when it comes to Panama I personally have commented on my opinions against certain things that corrupt the country, however I believe that Balboa Avenue and the coastal strip is beautiful, and I love Panama so much, of course your comment was a little bit rough but no big dea at all.. lol
You have no idea how in our Forum here in skyscrapercity we criticize buildings that other forumers from other parts of the world might think it's nice but too us it's dull so trust me your little education about how criticism better us is nothing new and interesting. Panamanians are also very jolly and yes you can call it nationalism, whatever you want, we are so proud to have such a beautiful, very friendly and interesting place. People from Canada, Europe, here in the U.S have called Panama home.
You don't have to take it personally, Like I said everyone has their point of view and perspective at looking things.
Not everyone will agree with you or me when it comes to architecture.

The best in Mexico City, but not the only good ones.

More from Paseo de la Reforma:

Not as grand as many of the other avenues, but here's the northern end of University Avenue in Toronto:

image hosted on flickr

University Avenue wraps around the Ontario Legislature (seen above), then continues south towards the financial district. It's a little wider on the other side: 4 lanes each way, a wide centre meridian, and adorned with statues/monuments/water features.

Future 'Axe Majeur' project in Paris

The Champs Elysées in the next few years (as part as the Grand Paris project):

The rendering come from the Axe Majeur project (burrying the A14/N13 in a tunnel below Neuilly-sur-Seine and creating a true urban continuity between the City of Paris and La Défense). The tower to the left is one proposal in that Axe Majeur project. Also note that Signal Tower has been officially abandonned by Jean Nouvel.

Other views of the Axe Majeur after the A14/N13 is burried below the ground in a tunnel:

I think Paseo de la Reforma is extremely beutiful. They just need to fill in some of the holes with cool buildings. Which is being done.

Passeig de Gracia and Champs Elysee are simply amazing. Breathtaking.

Oh gosh... get over yourself. Maybe people just get BORED of argentines trying to make us say "oh wow, so pretty." But the comment you would probably like to hear the most: "wow, so European!"
