Close to the old town, on a hill, there's the "Villetta Dinegro" public garden.

Genoa was an important port and financial center of Europe in Middle Ages. The traces of its glorious past have been felt everywhere in a city. I love this town as well as other Italian cities because of their stunning classical architecture, reflecting the soul of Italian people and culture.

Are you talking about the thread title? I think that when they say Genoa has the biggest historic centre of Europe they mean "of medieval origin". I don't know if it is "the" biggest, but surely is "one of" a very little number with a so wide, clear medieval plant.

Genoa, the sister port of Antwerp. With close ties that go back to the middle ages. Rubens, our most famous painter, went to Genoa to study. And even today, the Antwerp port keeps close contact with Genoa. I should really visit this city that has such a special band with mine.
