Well its is cheap:

Konkurrencens udfordring var budgettet på max. 10.000,- pr./m2.
But is it just me or do wou normally complain about projects being too high-end like here:

What exactly is it you don't understand about the dynamics of the real estate market? Of course even cheap buildings should preferrably look good but in the real world cheap buildings seldomly look exclusive just like expensive buildings on expensive sites are rarely sold cheaply. Do you expect developers to plan to lose money or simply Santa to stop by?

And frankly I doubt it would be possible to sell anything not cheap at that location so I guess it is would could be expected although I agree that it looks a far cry from interesting.

It seems like poles (not the melting ones, and not the ones taking our jobs) are the new black these years. They're at Monrads Plads and Superkilen, and now they're also popping up in Herlev. Plus, the new Olafur Eliasson bridge in Copenhagen will also have a few poles in its design.

U also seem to recall some at the new Havengade - maybe at the pavillion/bandstand. I think you are on to something.

Here is the lokalplan for the project. No sign of any poles but I have seen a proposal for a roof supported by 8 columns.

Well it was this rendering I was thinking of:

Not free-standing poles of course but the pole look seem to be intentionally accentuated. The striped lamp posts in SLA's Nordvestparken also leave a pole-ish impression.

Now when i think of it, i can see those poles in every other new construction. Look at Superkilen for example with those megapoles...

Here is a wild example of red poles on a red square in Dublin´s docklands.
There is a bit of the same atmosphere as in Nørrebro in this, though not so much activity.

Great examples, guys. My point exactly. Must be something they teach the architects at school. Or maybe it's some sort of product placement by the pole dancing industry. I've heard it's the new zumba...

Well, to get back on topic: I don't know if anyone has mentioned it before, but there's a great (but rather small) exhibition regarding the ambitious Loop City vision/masterplan/whatever at Hovedbiblioteket in Hvidovre. If you're in the neighbourhood, I strongly recommend a peak at the 10-12 large posters and rich illustrated books laying around. It's really cool stuff!

Sounds great. Can we hope on something similar to the Loop district in Chicago?

And if the posters at the library are not enough, try this.

We have seen this before, that's a pretty serious project for a municipality like Albertslund.

Oh, sorry about that. I just couldn't find it in this thread or in the Copenhagen thread.

I wonder when the Copenhagen urban area and the Roskilde urban area will grow completely together. There is not many kilometers between them now, if you drive along Roskildevej (Hovedgaden/Københavnsvej).

From google maps (I have added the DSV headquarter - hopefully I got the location right):

I did think the same - and it's in fact a reality now, mayby not in the big version, but peu un peu.
Malmö has the same situation with Lund, aalmost one urban zone now, so this give around 100 km urban area including Øresundsbron.

Ongoing or coming project in that hood is: DSV HQ - the Handicap organizations new HQ Høje-Taastrup - The 90,000 m2 huge Copenhagen Market - the outlet centre at City 2 - the coming extension at RUC in Roskilde - the continuing urban development in Trekoner - extension at Rockwool - the Musicon in Roskilde, and others..
