Sorry. I'm an ill-informed foreigner. Make that 1/4th of each "ethnicity" or whatever. From my perspective everybody looks and sounds more or less the same but whatever.

Whatever.

I kinda misread the question and voted 'no' because I don't believe it's in anyone's interests for Scotland to separate from the UK. However, I believe Scotland should be allowed independence, if there ever comes a time when the majority want it.

Yes, Scotland would have full sovering control over all it's affairs.

They watch UK television in many countries and speak English you know like the Rep of Ireland (where there is also barrier at the UK border), Australia, USA etc etc.

It does not make a good case for not seeking independance.

I wasn't making a case, I was asking a question.

But would it be able to fund its own affairs?

Yes, but a Scottish Broadcasting Service would have to start paying for it or no more Doctor Who for you!

One positive for us is we could get rid of Kirsty Wark, and her pompous Review Show.

Not if the SNP were in charge, they've made promises to lower taxes and be more business friendly, increase public spending, maintain the entire british military infrastructure, create an oil fund, pension fund and be able to bail out RBS and Bank of Scotland!!! From a constantly depleting resource.

It's maths from the asylum.

She's a unionist and labour supporter she goes on holiday with former first minister Jack McConnell.

it's up to them anyway.
Could be fifty millions englishmen saying "no", if there is a majority in Scotland, then the UK would already try to find a new flag.

Not so good without blue.

Isn't there some kind of understanding in international law about secession, that calls any secession that doesn't have a massive majority supporting it, technically unlawful.

I think the item always come up when sovereignty is debated in Quebec.
