![]() Last monday there was a celebration to mark the start of construction. City oficial Hamit Karakus gave the start signal for the construction of FIRST Rotterdam. This mixed use tower will be an eyevather of the Rotterdam Central District. Construction will be done by VolkerWessels subsidiaries Boele & van Eesteren and Wessels Zeist. FIRST Rotterdam CV is the developer (combination of Maarsen Groep from Amsterdam and MAB Development from the Hague). 27 december; after doing 1 or 2 piles as official start, they are now back in the process of digging and removing last parts of the old foundation. Status PREP for now.

Why do they preserve that brick art facade? Perhaps they could locate is somewhere in a park, instead of incorporate it into the new building.
