desertpunk, thanks so much for the response. i love architecture, and i certainly loved the first photo, particularly. i haven't been to florida in about 11/2 years. drove down to marcos island and then came back up to tampa. usually, i get hooked into the miami route. i noticed one poster stated that he had spent a weekend in st. aug and really enjoyed. i am going to find some books on its history, and then i'm going to try to fly as close as i can get, and rent a car the rest of the way. i hate the drive through lower georgia and down the interstate in flordia---ugly and boring, by and large.

I've been there twice and St. Augustine is just so unique. And in it's own way, in a sort of time warp. And the beach is awesome!

Thanks...DesertPunk.....for that pic of Raleigh, NC...., brings back memories of when I used to live there, sure is a nice city..and growing....there are a lot of nice places in the Triangle Area....if anyone can please post some pics of the Raleigh/Durham/Chapell Hill area....thanks.

I used to live there for 11 years. it is still growing. I have good memories of the triangle.
Nice place to live and raise kids, it could be too quiet sometimes.
The only thing that I used to complain there was the lack of street lights on freeways and even on streets.

It was way too dark
