Is it an optical illusion, or does this building seem to have virtually no floor space on each level?

There's a lot of floor space, it's just a massive building. Two photos above, you can see some workers for scale if you look close enough.

China builds lots of boxes for economic viability---"China is dystopian and inhuman!"

China builds nice sculptural buildings like this ---"China only cares about image!"

I was thinking the same thing, there appears very little floor space on each floor until I saw the pictures of the workers. Wholly Shit, this building is huge. Its like an illusion.

This building is of the currently typical tri-foil design, concrete inner core, with a thin skin on the outside to follow that core shape.

The amount of floorspace between the core and outer wall is small, but that inner core is floor plan as well.

This shape is like Marina Tower in Chicago, but a much more massive inner core that has room for work, office, retail, and living spaces.

Do we know whether there might be some core reconfiguration that will actually increase the amount of floorspace on some higher floors? If so, do we know at which floor that might happen?

No one said it was, but then again it has to make some financial sense, it's not simply a showoff, or they would have taken the Kingdom Tower approach.

My original question still stands.

I don't think so? They already have pretty much floor space (>303,000 mē)

The tower was designed like this, approved like this and financed by investors like this.
So I guess everyone involved is happy with the project's dimensions and profitability.
