nice pics. the station turns out great, though from other recent pics I can see that the surrounding area is still messy with a lot of construction work going on.

any idea when the subway connecting it will open?

This looks way too long and wide. Why can't they install the some people-movers like in long airport terminals?

This just came out from JF daily (or liberation daily):
http://www.jfdaily.com/a/2128619.htm

A train has covered the entire distance from SH to BJ in 4 hours 48 minutes today,
with one stop in Nanjing. Since the distance is 1318km, the average speed is about
274km/h.

Can they make the hallways smaller, so that that it is easier to walk across?

One should create a web page dedicated to these train stations. They all look like very modern airports, love it.

LOL you are right making it narrower will cause the hallway to appear even longer. They really should install people movers, the same problem is with Hongqiao as well. However it's very unlikely for anyone to have to walk the whole distance because the platform entrances are along the side of the hallway so you will most likely reach your platform before the half point of the hallway.

I believe the pillars mimick Xia or Shang dynasty bronze work.
