These details are what makes me appreciate the scale of investment in the high speed network. Thanks for uploading the pictures flanker!

I mean changsha to kunming line will open at 250km/h,because this line is located at the west of China, where the economic development is backward, and 350km/h line is too expensive.

And very far to the south. If/when Kunming becomes the rail nexus for international HSR travel through East Asia, eventually down to Singapore, things might change. Though it would make more sense to travel by air from Singapore to Kunming, not to speak of further north in China, Bangkok could become a train ride away from Changsha or Hong Kong.

So you're saying the line will be built for 350km/h but trains will be limited to 250km/h or less?

I do not look forward to standing room 'seats' on PDL.

yes,the bridges, tunnels, signal system are all 350km/h standard,But the setting of the slab track (ultrahigh and less super high.) is 250~300km/h standard,After the accident in 2011,many lines have been ajusted from 300~350km/h to 200~250km/h.mainly in WEST China,Changsha to kunming line is lucky,at least the hardware(bridges and tunnels, etc) is 350km/h standard.BUT others in WEST China are not so lucky. What a stupid decision! Conservative is the biggest obstacle to social development, all over the world!!!

BTW,the pictures i post are the Changsha to Hangzhou line,in Zhejiang province.

Chongqing-Lichuan railway on testing run from Oct 11

Chongqing-Lichuan railway is the last unfinished part of Shanghai-Chengdu HSR. It's a HSR/low speed mixed railway. The testing run will end at the beginning of November. Chongqing-Lichuan railway will open by the end of 2013.

Shanghai-Chengdu HSR is part of the backbone of Chinese HSR network. It will dramatically reduce the travel time of Chengdu/Chongqing to Shanghai/Wuhan/Nanjing.

At present, direct travel between Shenzhen and Xiamen is impossible. The faster train Guangzhou East-Xiamen takes 12:59.

On 27th December, what shall be the direct train time Guangzhou-Shanghai via Xiamen?
