The travel time between Beijing and Nanning will cut from 26 to 10 hours as the completion of XiangGui(Hunan-Guangxi) HSR by the end of this year.

Are you sure, we are talking about 2013?
There is heavy contruction going on in Nanning, I dont think it will be ready for passenger operations until Dec 31, 2013 (its just 6 weeks to go).

I meant the Kunming/Nanning HSR link. It hasn't been completed because the HSR terminus in Kunming has just begun construction.

I'm sure it is U/C but I rarely see any mention of it on the forums.

Looks like Hengyang-Nanning is contradictory:

Because my topic was, which lines may be opened in 2013, next month.
If nothing in Nanning is ready then neither are Nanning-Kunming nor Nanning-Qinzhou, nor Nanning-Wuzhou.

So. Can anyone confirm the readiness or otherwise for opening of the lines
Xiamen-Longhua
Lichuan-Chongqing
within December 2013?

Hengyang-Liuzhou and Liuzhou-Nanning HSR has been successfully connected in Liuzhou. So Beijing-Nanning HSR has completed. Many medium have reported this news recently. But I think it's impossible that it only takes 10 hours from Beijing to Nanning,12 hours is more realistic.(Beijing-Guilin 10hours,Guilin-Nanning 2 hours)

Construction of Yunnan-Guangxi (Yun-Gui) High-speed Railway Starts Within the Year
From : Author : Time:2009-03-23

The construction of Yun-Gui railway will get started within the year, the operation line being 754 kilometers from Kunming east station to Nanning station, with the designed speed of 200 kilometers per hour, and designed running condition capable of 250 kilometers per hour. It takes no more than 5 hours from Nanning to Kunming after the completion of Yun-Gui railway.

The Yun-Gui high-speed railway is to be built into a great passageway linking Yunnan to the coastal areas, strengthening the distribution capability of ports of Beibu Gulf. It mainly deals with the passenger transportation, and concurrently with the freight transportation. The route changes a lot in Yunnan Province, but in Guangxi it goes in almost the same direction to the present Nanning-Kunming railway.

The construction of Yun-Gui high-speed railway is to start at the end of this year, with construction period of 6 years and a total investment of 89.9 billion yuan. The railroad bed project will have been completed by July, 2011. It is suggested that the money be raised jointly by the Ministry of Railways, Yunnan Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, in addition, the application could be made to the banks for a loan.

Yes. But it is only after connection of railways that running rail tests can begin. These have usually taken some months. Also if tests are still taking time, it is possible to complete passenger stations meanwhile. So these news are consistent with some months left for opening, not some weeks. Or did the news specify December 2013 for opening?

Compute from Hengyang.
The fastest train Beijing-Changsha is G79. It takes 5:38 to travel 1484 km new railway Beijing West-Changsha South (the old railway Beijing-Changsha is 1591 km), and it leaves Changsha South 5:41 after Beijing.
The faster train Beijing-Hengyang is G71. It takes 7:22. But this is because it is not express. It makes 9 stops between Beijing and Changsha, but G79 makes just 3. It also stops at Hengshan between Changsha and Hengyang.
Most nonstop G trains actually take 37 minutes. Like G6011, is first morning train Changsha-Shenzhen, out of Changsha 7:00, arrives Hengyang 7:37, leaves 7:39.
So an express train Beijing-Hengyang should be able to arrive in Hengyang in 6:18, and leave in 6:20 after leaving Beijing.
How long will a high speed train take Hengyang-Guilin-Nanning? 3:40 with total trip 10:00 from Beijing, or 5:40 for total trip time 12:00?

Both Hengyang-Liuzhou and Liuzhou-Nanning has already tested before being connected.
Hengyang-Liuzhou tested run begins in June and Liuzhou-Nanning begins in early November.

The news said that it takes only 4 hours from Hengyang to Nanning,I really doubt it.

How fast is the line? If 300 km/h then it's nothing special - a bit below 200 km/h average.

By the way how about Nanning-Guangzhou high speed line? Is there such line planned/in construction? I'd imagine that to be a more important connection than the one all the way to Beijing.
