The differences between national and regional Chinese rail are only in the sources of funding and construction - it's the local governments or provinces running the show - given that many of these 'Regional Rail' may connect with other links in the future, I suggest we keep them in the same China HSR thread. The same workers are completing these projects, so as national lines complete the regional lines will begin - keeping this information in one place makes sense.

The technology will be identical to the national PDL and will likely form one massive National + Regional PDL grid in the future.

Well, that was my argument previously, but I was told that it is different and because this thread is so long, it should be separated. This is why I said that if you guys think that the regional HSR thread will be as busy as this one, go ahead and create it. I'll leave it up to you guys to hash it out.

There are other ways this thread could split as well, e.g. into existing/running lines and planned lines/lines under construction.

As I would probably subscribe to all threads separately or united in one big thread like now, I don't have any strong opinions personally.

That would be inconvenient as lines get completed.

Not really, then you post in the regular HSR thread instead of in the planned/uc thread.

That would be a disconnect of information.

I think keeping it all in one thread is preferable (all information in one place). It's the most active thread in railway subforum, but there are several even longer elsewhere and they work just fine.

Of course I'll still visit even if other member decide otherwise.

Now I prefer keeping as is and not splitting it.

There we go then. I think the overwhelming majority want it to stay here. So here it stays. Keep up the good posting and information, everyone.

Last year in July it was precisely 200km/h. I took the train to get from Guangzhou to Macau.

Where are the 16 railways of Wuhan? I count just 3 (1 opened, 2 planning).
And if Shanghai-Nanning has opened, is it short distance?

You have very cheap tickets and very small difference in price between the 1st class and the second. If I happen to go to China again some time soon it will be affordable to travel in the 1st class only.

Where I live it costs double of already not that cheap price...
