Why copy when you can buy decent trains and airplanes in any other country.
AND MAYBE EVEN MORE IMPORTANT, why qoute lot's of Off Topic pictures when you can use or delete them in your post. And ON TOPIC: Nobody mentioned the new 200 km/h Pendolino trains by Alstom for China, the first train have arrived in China by now or atleast almost. The first 3 trains are build in Italy the rest (51) will be build by the Changchun Railway Company in China. They will be used on regional lines, using it's tilting to go faster on older convetional lines. U/C pics from the factory in Italy ![]() ![]() http://www.transport.alstom.com/home...news/Hot_news/ |

OH C'mon people stop this China vs Japan Crap this is about trains not who can built better ones!
As for the Italian train, I have no idea China was getting that I think its cool more variety. Imagine what China will be like 10yrs from now since they are modernizing its railway sector. At this rate I believe China might be the country with the largest highspeed rail network, its only a matter of time considering the huge population and land. |

Firms like Kawasaki, Mitsubishi HI, Fuji HI do not only make civilian products, they make military hardware too. The only thing that is holding Japan back is the high cost of development because Japan cannot export weapons due to its constitution, which makes the cost per unit extremely high.(only JSDF can buy from them, not foreign countries). Kongo class destroyer, China still doesnt have anything that can match this ship in terms of technology and displacement, this ship has been in service with JMSDF for more than 10 years.

Copying things isnt always bad, many countries have done that to start up their own industry. Actually i encourage poorer and developing countries to copy technology, medicine and such to suit their markets prizes and to develope. Becouse of the most of the times unjust tradingconditions for poorer countries they need to stand up for themselves.

The Kongo class destroyer is a licensed built a U.S. Burke class DDG. Same radar, engine, gun, missiles, sonar. The SAD thing is, I'll never be able to ride a high speed train from San Francisco to Los Angeles, cause it'll never be built. |
