Looks like those are only 2 pair of trains per day. I took those HSR sleeper once, a great timer saver for business day trips. Essential have "zero" de facto travel time, and saves on hotel costs as well.

All stations between Dandong and Dalian are Dandong West, save three which are Gaizhou West.

Haha. A bit funny,right?
The correct English name of these stations along Dandong-Dalian Line is:
Dalian North/Dalianbei(大连北)-Jinzhou(金州)-Guangningsi(广宁寺)-Dengshahe(登沙河)-Xingshutun(杏树屯)-Pikou(皮口)-Chengzitan(城子坦)-Huayuankou(花园口)-Zhuanghe North/Zhuanghebei(庄河北)-Qingdui(青堆)-Dagushan(大孤山)-Beijingzi(北井子)-Donggang North/Donggangbei(东港北)-Dandong West/Dandongxi(丹东西)-Dandong(丹东)

IMO the hukou system is designed to keep migrant workers migrating, so 80 million people and their families can't just move to the east provinces and settle down. Has its ethical drawbacks, but benefits the economy.
The Ministry of Public Security Department(MPS) of PRC recently held a meeting to make a plan to give Hukou to unregistered citizens(about 13 million according to the 6th statistics of population). It's a good beginning.

Is there any news about the Mianyang-Suining-Nijiang-Yibin Intercity Railway?

I am curious in this line because it is a circular ring line around eastern Sichuan and is a project that does not connect to a provincial capital or Tier 1 city.

The southern section of the Chongqing-Lanzhou High-Speed Railway will start testing on December 24th, 25th or 26th, 2015. This will provide a connection between Chongqing and the northern Sichuan city of Guangyan, via Nanchong. The region between Nanchong and Guangyan has had no previous rail connection before. There has been no notice given of exact dates or possible opening schedule, but that is believed to be in March, 2016.

This line is intended in the future for high-speed Xi'an-Chongqing services connecting with the Chengdu-Xi'an High-Speed Railway at Guangyan.

The stations between Nanjing South and Wuhu (85 km away) seem to be Jiangning West (25 km from Nanjing South), Maanshan East (42 km) and Dangtu East (57 km)

It's Neijiang(内江), not Nijiang.

What are these two workers doing? To reinforce the cliff to prevent rockings falling off the cliff? The nets do not seem to be strong enough... in my eyes, maybe I am wrong.

The nets will not be able to stop a full-blown landslide already in motion. What they can do, however, is prevent the rocks from moving in the first place--particularly individual chunks that might pose a security hazard for trains operating below.

That, or the nets may have some sort of sensor rigging implemented in Taiwan and Japan, where any sort of movement automatically triggers E-braking on nearby trains.

It's a steel mesh net designed to prevent lose rocks from falling down, it's widely used worldwide, you'll see plenty of that kind of net on US highways.
