My Acer Aspire's not bad. The battery life's rubbish because I always leave it on charge, so I have to dim the screen right down if I want to play solitaire do work on train journeys etc. My windows media player takes anything between 30 seconds and a minute to start playing a song (once it's going it's fine). The worst thing about my laptop is the screen goes into flicker spasms maybe once a day, solved my a steady thump to the side of the screen. Does anyone know if this is a bad thing to be happening?

Over the summer I spent $2000 on a new Apple Imac, which turned out to be a total POS. It locks up completely 1-2 times a day, but at random. I've taken it into the shop multiple times and Apple claims its fine. It's completely useless, except to play games I guess.

I'm running windows Vista and it's not that bad. I was running windows Millennium before, that was so bad that even virus creators didn't bother to write viruses for win ME as they knew we were suffering enough already. You could boot the pc, leave it for 15 mins just on the desktop doing nothing and it would bluescreen.

does everyone keep the little stickers that are in front of the keyboard on a laptop or do you peel them off?

I turned on an NHS computer last year, to my shock:horror it was running Windows 3.04, and it is still in use; talk about a blast from the past and time getting it to work. Obviously the computer appropriately was from the Pathology department.
