Floating offices at Dubai Marina

Hi, read this interesting article today, enjoy:

Emaar Properties yesterday announced it would create floating offices as on-water facilities for marine enthusiasts at the Dubai Marina, the region's premier waterfront lifestyle development.

Conceptualised by Emaar's marina specialists, the revolutionary floating offices are the first of its kind in the Middle East and will be integral to the new 100-berth waterfront marina now in construction and due for launch very shortly.

They will be located at the waters edge and will allow people to shop for their boating needs, including the latest in marine gear, boat products, fashion and food. These floating offices are purpose- designed for the marina environment yet could be used for other reasons such as boat shows and waterfront home offices.

'It's one more innovative development by Emaar Properties that will certainly go a long way in boosting the country's growing marina leisure industry,' said Joe Goddard, Marina Manager, Emaar Properties.

'Boat owners and visitors to Dubai Marina will be able to access all the latest marine gear and boat products through our on-the-water facilities. The offices are conveniently situated on the marina itself so while strolling down the marina, people can browse through the floating office shops for their boating needs.

'I'm glad Emaar is playing the lead role in providing impetus to the growth of the region's leisure marine industry because boat builders and charter crafts rely on good marina facilities such as the ones the Dubai Marina possesses,' he added.

Emaar has engaged the services of Dubai's Squisito Interior Decoration Architects and Germany's Clement Yacht Harbour Systems to come up with the designs that range in size from 10-18 metres in length.

Services offered at the marina will include boat brokers selling the latest European cruisers, a nautical ships chandlery and fashion shop, a cruising and fishing charter office and valet service.

The Dubai Marina houses luxury residential and leisure facilities covering over 200 acres of land across 10 districts. The first phase of development measuring more than 2.7 million square feet consists of six high-rise towers featuring nearly 1,100 waterfront apartments and luxury villas.

Owners of vessels including smaller sailing craft are already booking berths on the Eastern Marina as the surge in boating activity through Dubai has led to a pent up demand for marina space.

The whole Dubai Marina complex is being further transformed with the unveiling of Marina Walk, an exclusive boulevard which features fine dining restaurants, coffee shops and retail outlets.

I suppose its just to get that marina feel goin on, water all around you, since water is an essential component of all their projects. It's a good idea, definately very refreshing especially in this heat.

It will be a good business if we bought a number of those flooting houses and turn it into a residence or a hotel.
