Korean investment delegation shows willingness to invest Huteen site
Korean investment delegation showed willingness to invest Huteen site located in Iskandriyah sub district on the North of Babylon, the delegation included representatives of a group of Korean companies. The director general of BIC, Alaa Ibrahim Harba, confirmed that the site is so important with a total area of about (15 million square meters) and contains part of infrastructure like network of irrigation water & drinking water, and a path for the rail in addition to about (25 km) road network. Moreover, he explained that BIC looks at this site to be an industrial city with significant development, referring to the available cadre in Huteen that can be made advantage of, pointing out that the file submitted by Korean delegation on the investment of Huteen site which was seen by BIC shows the establishment of reinforcement iron plant with a production capacity comes to about (1,500,000) tons per year and employs around (1500) employees, whereas the second phase consists of establishing a plant for the production of different industrial pipes and employ around (1500) workers and produces (1 , 500,000) tons per year, indicating that National Investment Commission is in the process of obtaining approvals for the project from the relevant ministries as well as the opinion of the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Environment to match the project with environmental standards. Furthermore our commission has prepared a file on this topic containing internal and external description in details of the site.
