I reckon a Houston world cup would be nice.
The World Cup is hosted by an entire country. Not just a city. Dozens of stadiums, separate training facilities and tons of hotel and convention space.

Which makes the idea of Qatar hosting more ridiculous. A country smaller than the state of Connecticut will build a dozen world class stadiums, training facilities, more hotel and convention space than most countries ever need. A country with zero football tradition and insanely hot summers. All this waste will become entirely obsolete after the WC. Just another example of corruption and bribery with FIFA and excess in the ME.

It was sarcasm

Since the 2022 WC will be hosted in a single city.

The current rotation policy will end after 2022 !! (from the 2026 WC, only the countries from the confederation who hosted the last tournament won't be allowed to bid)

So,

1-European Nations will be allowed to bid ! (only Asia won't be allowed)

2-Your list is already outdated (see the first point)

3-2026 ??? Really ?? *sigh.........*

Isn't Australia and Asia two seperate continents? So wouldn't Australia still have a chance in bidding?

FIFA really needs to clean their act before the next bid. I'm still pretty upset that both the USA and Australia were shot down for a country with $$$. To me, it shows that they give a damn about the sport and are in it for the money. If they do kick out the trash that plagues them, then USA should bid. I would keep the candidate cities the same, but I know whoever is in charge in the US will put up the bidding process and elimination again if we do go for 2036.

If they don't change the rules to let Europe or Asia bid and the U.S. refuses to bid, this World Cup could go to a really bad hot. Canada? Egypt?

Australia is indeed a different continent and it used to be part of the Oceania Football Confederation.

However, four years or so ago, Australia asked (and was granted permission) to join the Asian Football Confederation because it wanted more regular genuine competition for its team.

So they wouldn't be able to bid for the World Cup again until 2030 at the earliest.

FIFA might as well just put the W.C. up for auction and if the highest bidder is the same country each time, so be it. Money is all that matters to them. Why pretend otherwise?

No one's pretending otherwise, that's why the WC is being hosted in Qatar.

Australia wont host any time soon...when I say soon, they wouldnt bid within the next 20-30 years...

The media here and everyone is outraged at the decision, and at the money we wasted on our bid campaign...

Even our government is angry, so they won't be putting any money into another bidding campaign until FIFA clean up their act, which like someone said before we probably wont bid again.

If Australia REALLY wanted it in 2026, it would protest against MBH's actions and move back to Oceania. Then it will have the right to truely claim it is taking the game to new lands

All not going to happen, but thats the only way it has a chance for many cups to come.

I would be happy to see Australia, US, England and other losing bids boycott any future hosting right processes, just to teach FIFA a lesson. There will always be others though that will put their hands up for it though, willing to buy themselves a cup, so the end result would likely be minimal.

No chance of Australia going back to Oceania.

Sadly Australian's would see another bid as a complete waste of money after the debacle in Zurich. Missing out by a couple of votes would of been upsetting, receiving just one vote and getting knocked out in the first round is just plain offensive.

Football has been on the rise here since world cup qualification in 2005 but a lot of the inroads made have now been negated. Honestly this has stumped the development of the game by a good 20 to 30 years, not only in Australia but the Pacific region.

Sorry to digress, that's my rant.
