For that line they depart every half hour from 4:45am - 9:45pm and then drop to hourly through the night with a 2 hour gap between 1:45am and 3:45am. There's also extra services during the peak hour.

Are there any plans to extend electrification down to Canberra?

None that I'm aware of, I don't think the patronage there is enough to necessitate it.

In the past yes, other carriages were closed off. Now days it is just the area closest to the guard. Not that they will do much anyway, they are train guards, not security guards.

Is there any plan to bring back monorails to Sydney? The city fell off the league table of transportation when it scuffled and dismantled its avant-grad monorail couple years ago.

Dunno if you ever used the monorail in Sydney, but it was pretty awful. It was overpriced, unidirectional, expensive to maintain and not really a real form of transport. Sydney has proper transit systems and is expanding them.

Never, but I think they could extend the monorail into better designed lines, to replace bus lines.

Why do you think that?

I suppose is something similar to the Off-hours Waiting Areas present in all New York subway stations where people can stand and can been seen by the Station Agent via video camera.

Sydney Metro | Location locked in for Waterloo Metro Station

Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Andrew Constance has today announced the location of the new station at Waterloo – the 31st station on Sydney Metro.

The station will be built underground between Botany Road and Cope Street, south of Raglan Street, with discussions now underway with affected landowners and tenants.

“We’ve locked in a station location and we’re getting on with the job of delivering the next stage of Sydney Metro,” Mr Constance said.

“This is a game-changing project for our city. The station at Waterloo is a key part of realising the area’s enormous potential and will make this rapidly growing part of Sydney more accessible and take pressure off Redfern and Green Square Stations.”

Sydney Metro will deliver ‘turn up and go’ rail services with more than 65 kilometres of new metro rail on a standalone line.
