A small station in the middle of the line

Transport ballaste + DH350 + sleeper train + wagons confort 2nd classe..



Between Nador and Bni Nsar port, a tram-train will be implemented. The platform which was ready for a 2nd track has now this 2nd track. + Electrification

‘Human error’ blamed for Casablanca-Fez train crash, ONCF
Rabat – The derailment, last Wednesday, of a Casablanca-Fez train at the entrance of the Zenata rail station (near Casablanca) was caused by a “human error”, Morocco’s railway company (ONCF) said Saturday.

The train conductor and the train chief did not respect “the protection signal” which was in the “stop position”, said ONCF in a release, noting that “the employee who was killed in the crash had no responsibility for the accident”.
According to an investigation conducted by an ONCF commission of experts, “a freight train coming from the Ain Sebaa rail station normally entered a service platform in the Zenatta station. Hence, the signaling system automatically put the protection signal in the stop position”.

“The train conductor and the train chief did not respect the stop sign and therefore crossed at a high speed, despite emergency brake, a switch lined for diversion
, said the same source, adding that this has made the train run off track before hitting an employee and an empty wagon on an adjacent track, ONCF explained.

ONCF noted that the “signaling systems, track and catenaries were “functioning normally” and the train had anomalies.

Question, Casablanca is a terminator station it seems from the pictures. So they don't have any through services to Marrakesh?

No Marrakech is a longue distance link, the train get there through Casa voyageurs, rumors going out that the TGV Euduplex V320 will continue from Tangier to Marrakech via Casa voyageurs too when the 740 km of GSM-R signal will be finished..

The new station looks very beautiful to me. Open spaces, light structures, usage a wooden materials and patterns reminding to local culture. A friendly atmosphere in a hot climate.

But why the hell do they let symbolically charged companies like Mc Donalds and Starbucks occupy most prominent spaces within the new station?
While I guess some upper class richer people may enjoy consuming globally standardized (and I guess overpriced) hamburgers and coffewater in antiseptically clean environements, for other daily travellers those shops may be seen as symbols of humiliation:
Everything downto the smallest detail comes from outside the own culture which it tries to invade and commercialize. Not only the products, but everything from cash registers, room design, logistics, business processes, advertisements, customer communication procedures, work hierarchies. Everything is in total opposition to what traditionally happens outside on the streets.

Anyway, on the long run such small symbols of invasion create violence and neurosis if the surrounding predominant culture does not fully adapts to the requirements of modernity (like China does)...
