Lille rolls out Euro 2016 contactless wristband tickets
10 Jun 2016

FRANCE: Contactless wristband tickets have been introduced on the Transpole metro, tram and bus networks in Lille in time for the UEFA Euro 2016 football championship. The city’s Stade Pierre Mauroy is one of 10 participating venues, and will see six matches between June 12 and July 1, including one of the host nation’s group matches on June 19.

Up to 300 000 visitors are expected to come to the city for the championship, and so transport operator Keolis Lille has introduced the wristbands, which are branded with ‘Partenaire des Supporters’ for a limited time. They will continue to be accepted after the end of the tournament, with top-up available at Transpole kiosks

Ligne 1 du Métro de la Métropole Européenne de Lille

I didn't posted this here : the new metro of Lille.
Works are deleyed, they should end in 2018 / 2019.
Now : metro = 26 meters. In 2018 : 52 meters. Few stations of ligne 1 of Métropole Européenne de Lille makes 26 meters so there is many and long works.

For some time there has been talk of extending Métro Line 2 from CHU Dron Hospital up to the SNCB rail station in Mouscron, just across the border in Belgium. No firm start date or anything else has been announced. The distance is not great. You can walk perhaps 10 minutes from CHU Dron and be in Belgium. This extension would really solve the problem of no night buses between the Lille Métro and Mouscron. This would also be a cheap alternative to the SNCB trains between Mouscron and Lille.
