This is a boooooooooring argument.....ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzZZZZzzzzzzz

Please, some of you get over the fact you didn't get the WC, and forumers from Qatar, stop celebrating, and now go back to work and prepare a good WC (wich is not easy) if you want to show that you deserved it!

Empty stadium at grand opening and first match.

Nice.

Nice play by Uzbekistan. Even sheiks could not do anything against them.

Qatar is OUT.

Official match report from the organizing committee says 37,000. Where did you get your figure from?

37,000 out of 40,000 is not so bad. considering a 10,000 seat section was allocated to the media.

For an opening match with the home team present, the minimum expected is that all tickets were sold.

They were.... They didn't attend

For example, I bought 6 tickets, 5 were actually used. The sixth was a waste (no body wanted to buy it at a high price...)

Great to see footballing power houses Doha getting off to a cracking start. I wouldn't trust those crowd figures at all, I would put money on them being inflated throughout the tournament.

I wonder how much the sheiks will throw at the officials (or opposition teams) in an attempt to hide their disgrace of a football team.

I won't be watching the asian cup for football reasons but it's nice to see Qatar giving us an idea of what to expect in 2022. Except in 2022 with all the newer and bigger stadiums and the better teams it will be 10x better. Nice pics.

I thought the opening ceremony was grand. Very good.

However i do hope Qatar maybe invest in their football team. The way the current team played in the opener they will be crushed in a world cup.

sound investment in youth football today i am sure will yield better returns by 2022.

Maybe the sheikh of Qatar should buy a european/south american club and expose the Qatari players to a high level of football.

Fantastic work from the Uzbeks in a half empty stadium(sorry there was 10,000 media there I forgot)

Pretty sure even the FIFA World Cup doesn't allow 10,000 seats for media and I've been to quite a few WC matches

Just love to know how many people are paying for tickets-or are people getting in free or even being paid to go??

Khalifa International Stadium
Capacity: 50,000-10,000 =40,000

Al-Gharafa Stadium
Capacity: 25,000-10,000 =15,000

Ahmed bin Ali Stadium
Capacity: 25,000-10,000 =15,000

Qatar SC Stadium
Capacity: 20,000 -10,000 =10,000

Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium
Capacity: 17,000 -10,000 =7,000
