I've just corrected your uneducated guesses with more official estimates, it might be more or less than 36 million today down from about 39 million before the '04 accession, certainly not more than we lost during WW II as you suggested.

I see that it hurt a lot of you that you were wrong. You do not need to know everything. The fact that you were wrong is not a reason for frustration...

Going back to my silly comparisons....while ex-Yugoslavia region has Poland beaten in number of million+ airports (nine compared to Poland's seven), our so-called "second tier" airports, those handling less than one million, interestingly handle more passengers than Poland's secondary airports...

Polish airports I.-XI.2017 - 2,145 million:

Ex-YU region for 2017, unofficial: ~3,350,000

Quote:
1. Sarajevo - ~950,000
2 .Pula - 600k
3. Zadar - 590,000
4. Tuzla - 520k
5 .Nis - 320k
6. Ohrid - 150k
7. Rijeka - 150k
8. Mostar - 40k
9. Osijek -30k

Why not give the # of passengers rather than the # of airports above 1M. I mean Poland is 1 country while the ex-YU countries are 6. Each of them have a central airport and that's it (+ the seasonal Croatian airports). Only Warsaw blows all of ex-YU out of the water in terms of passengers.

Pretty stunning growth for Polish airports in 2017. It's also good to see the very strong winter growth which reduces the seasonality of the airports.
