Because Neg. Or's Tourism industry has become bigger...

PAL is back by next month!

but wait, not only that!...

SEA AIR

ASIAN SPIRIT

are also serving Dumaguete also by next month with connections to Mactan, Boracay, Panglao, Siquijor, and Palawan!!

These are all confirmed by the ATO authorities..
In fact, the renovation of the ticket offices at the departure areas at the airport terminal are now brisk.. Present service airline, Air Philippines and its sister airline, PAL will both occupy the eastern side counters, while the west side will be occupied by Cebu Pacific, Asian Spirit, and Sea Air..

Now, Dumaguete will have a total of 5 service airlines serving in almost every corner of the country!..

The current serving airlines are:

CEBU PACIFIC

AIR PHILIPPINES

Both with twice per day service to Manila.

Visayan Daily Star

'Mambukal most profitable
among Capitol enterprises'
Mambukal Resort is the most profitable among the economic enterprises of the provincial of Negros Occidental, now self-sustaining after posting sustaining consistent income growth since 2004.

Japhet Masculino, head of the Economic Enterprise and Development Department, which runs the Mambukal Resort, said the upbeat income performance can be attributed to the aggressive development of the resort facilities which started in 2003.

He said that Mambukal became a self-sustaining enterprise after earning more than its expenses for personnel services and maintenance and other operating expenses, which is pegged only between P14 and P15 million a year.

Figures from the Negros Occidental Provincial Treasurer's Office show that from 2004 to 2005, Mambukal's annual revenue grew by 20 percent - from P14.003 million to P16.792 million - while from 2005 to 2006, by 19 percent - from P16.792 million to P19.927 million.

Although the data indicate a one percent drop in the percentage of increase from 2005 to 2006, figures show that the revenue increase during the period is still higher compared to that in 2004 to 2005. From 2005 to 2006, collection increase totaled P3.135 million, 12 percent higher than the P2.788 million from 2004 to 2005.

As of August this year, the income of Mambukal Resort already reached more than P17 million.

Governor Joseph Marañon, whose administration spearheaded the repair and rehabilitation of Mambukal Resort, said with the growth in the resort's income in the last couple of years, he is optimistic that they can reach the target P20 million collection by the end of 2007.

Mambukal earns from cottage rentals and entrance fees. Its facilities inclue lodges, convention hall, bathhouse, swimming pool, dipping pool, boating lagoon, canopy walk, camping grounds, and other recreational facilities such as Slide for Life and Climbing Wall.*NLG

i have been to mambukal back in 2005 but it was not totally finished yet. how is it now??.. how i miss the place.. touring around the huge area using the hanging bridges attached to the treetops and seeing the majestic waterfalls. we then hiked up to the mountains and we lost our way. so scary.. however, we were able to encounter another waterfall.. such memories!! i cant wait to go back!!

The last time i was there was just last year for a picnic only,it's way much better with the new added attraction. There were many foreign visitors on sight, subathing on the pool side.Nature at it's best plus the countryside views you'll be able to see on the road trip to Mambukal Resort.
Spring water is very refreshing but climbing the stairway to the waterfalls is a good health test and challenging.
